not wanting to go to sleep at night and waking up in the middle of the night

In the past couple of weeks my daughter has started crying for mommy after we put her down until we go get her - THEN she wakes up at 1am or 3am - she does not seem in pain or even hungry. Could it be teething or is it a stage of development. Seems that mostly, she simply wants to be around mommy and daddy and snuggle in the night.

I think, if giving the water bottle helps her to go to sleep then give it to her. My thought is that they are babies til at least 3 years of age and need comfort. Back in the caveman days the babes were ON the mommy til they were at least 2, breastfeeding. They didn't HAVE bottles. Eloise actually slept through the night last night. A well rested toddler and MOMMY makes all the difference.

I have the same problem. My daughter is 21 months and will only accept mummy putting her to bed, then she wakes up at least once before midnight and again sometime around 3am. She wants cuddles and her water bottle (which I would give anything to get rid off, so tips are welcome). Often I end up falling asleep in her bed with her and sometimes it's so bad I end up sleeping the night in her bed. I know this is not the right thing to do, but at least then I get more sleep than if I'm up and down like a yoyo and she doesn't wake the rest of the house. My daughter is definately teething, but I also think it has a lot to do with bad habits and the dredded bottle.
