Hey, has anyone actually gained weight while nursing? I am still nursing my 10 1/2 month old and can barely fit into my jeans these days. I am also taking an anti-depressant. I am told they cause weight gain too. Has anyone else experienced this fun and fantastic side effect?

I am still nursing my 11 month old and am on Zoloft too. I am still struggling and feel like I cant get it off either.

I don't gain weight as much as I can't lose it. With my previous 2 boys, I didn't lose my last 5 -10 lbs til I was done nursing. However, part of it is my eating...I'm really hungry when I nurse. And I don't deprive myself...although I could have an apple instead of 3 cookies, right? lol Don't worry, eventually you'll get back to normal!

I am so glad to hear that I am not the only one with this fabulous side effect. I guess it is time to get back the exercise routine... ha, ha! Hopefully, weaning will help... fingers crossed! Good luck ladies!

umm yah!! They say breastfeeding helps you lose weight...I was able to wear a pair of jeans just after I had my son, and now I can't get them on ( pretty depressing some days!) Im starting to wean my son so hopefully I'll be able to lose some of this weight!!

I have gained weight each time I nursed my kids. Everyone said you'll lose weight nursing. Not me. My body was storing the weight to feed the babies. I had twins in April, and I thought, great, I'll lose those pounds fast. Nope. Glad to hear I'm not the only one.

I am so there with you. I nursed my 3 boys and with each one I gained weight while nursing, not lost- everyone told me I would lose weight. Not me! I stopped nursing my youngest @ 6 1/2 months because I just couldn't take the weight gain anymore. (Besides, I had been either pregnant or breastfeeding for the last 3 years,so I was done.) Good luck!
