My kid cries until she can't breath every time I put her in the shopping cart and I end up holding her the whole time. She is 31 inches and 25 pounds and it has gotten to the point that I don't want to go out anymore because it is too much. What can I do to get her to like staying in the cart?

My daughter throws fits but not for the same reason. She loves to walk everywhere! We try to get her to push the cart so we have a better eye on her especially when I do most of the shopping by myself because my husband is gone a lot. I wish I could be more of assistance. I just wanted you to know that you are not alone!

I put my son usually in the buggy part if he wont sit down. I know you shouldn't, but I never leave the cart and it's the only way I can get some shopping done. Also, I usually go with my hubby so that I have some help. My little man is usually really good and just follows us around the store if we let him walk about.

We let our son "push" the cart. Just below you, they can grab the bars - works great, for shorter trips, plus people will laugh cuz its funny this little one pushing it :)

My 17 month old daughter loves the carts with the car in front. She sits in the car for at least a few aisles of shopping.
