Soft Spot Closure

I have a 20 month old she is 25 pounds and has a normal size head and is 33 inches tall but she still has her front soft spot, and it is the length of my finger and about an inch wide. Does anyone else have this same issue and is this "normal". We do not go back to the dr for 4 more months so i just was wondering if this was something that should be closed up by then. Thank you.
