My daughter's was on April 7th. We spent the day at the park and in her little baby pool (it was 90 degrees). I bought 2 cakes. One was just for her to basically destroy and the other was for the rest of us. Since we are totally overrun with toys, we decided to get a big sandbox and a table and chairs set for her. It was wonderful, but she was so tired she fell asleep before the cake. Last year we did a big party, but I really think this year was so much better.

This saturday having her party at build-a-bear then pizza and cake after with a few of her firends from school. Then the next day, her birthday, going to Toys R Us for her gift from "jeffery's birthday club", spend the day together and then have the grandparents come over for cake.

We are doing what we did last year. We are having her party at a local park. Her father has a pretty big family and we have friends with kids and they all had a blast last year. Hopefully the weather agrees.

Having a family thing only, spent far to much money last year on Alex's first, and we do it more for us than for our kids becaue we want to mark the occassion, yet they don't even understand. It's just a lunch for an hour or two, then my boy and I will probably have some quality time together :-)

My daughters birthday is this weekend coming up, which also happens to be easter weekend. We are going to a local community centre to have and easter egg hunt and a craft. Then we are going to head back to my house for cake and icecream. Last year we had her party at our new house just after we had moved in. It was chaos and decide this year we didnt want to have it here. So the activtiy at the community centre is perfect for us.The price frankly couldnt be better.
