Hello everyone, I am planning my son's 1st birthday party but I am not sure about what kind of games and entertainers would be more appropriate for this kind of party? Any ideas? What are your plans ?

You cannot plan any structured game for one or two year olds. They won’t settle down with anything structure. I would recommend you to create a play area for them. Fill it with lots of soft toys, brain games, puzzles, coloring sheets, crayons, musical toys, etc. and let them enjoy doing whatever they want to do. This way, you will get time to entertain the adult guests. Make sure someone supervises the kids and they are not left unattended. Here are some more 1st birthday party ideas

We have 11mth old twin girls and we are just having a family bbq. I have bought decorations and just themed it in the colours pink and purple. As they don't really understand what the day is about yet I made sure that it still looked like a 1st birthday. They may not remember the day, but they are your memories too.

my daughters is april 10th after easter but we are doing a farm theme and doing an egg hunt gathering the chickens eggs using egg cartons instead of baskets--- pick up duck game where they can keep the duck( will be in a farm wagon with easter grass- small petting farm with two puppies, pig, easter chicks( which will also be used for the duck game special prize), and a minature pony--- serving cupcakes with cocnut on some and easter chick marshamellows on top and her minature cake will be a homemade barn- and we are doing a hay ride and decorating gerber puff snack containers (cause they look like milk jugs)--- i go overboard for partys and with family and church family there will be about 25 kids 5 her age and about 40-50 adults - but i want to celebrate my kids lifes and have a fun day for all not just the birthday person hope this helps

I only have the one baby, and my extended family doesn't have any young kids, so we are going to just do a family meal and cake. I am thinking between 11:30 - 1pm to accomodate the napping schedule so he'll be in a good mood for the party and everyone can enjoy themselves. I am going to wait until next year when he's more aware of things and has a favorite character or activity to do a theme cake/colors. He'll be happy to be the center of attention and play with the wrapping paper/boxes!!!

I am doing a construction /tool theme. The invitation will say "We're digging up some Fun because Liam is turning 1" We are going to serve dirt pudding and decorate with Orange, Yellow and Black.

Hi! I've been thinking a lot about what to do for our little man's first party. We're probably just going to keep ours very simple though with our family (we both have large families). We are both the first to have children and our friends' children are all different ages, so we probably won't be playing games this time. I might do a storytime to fit in with our theme.

This is a good question as I am wondering this myself as this is my first child. I would like to have a party for our family and friends together, so we might either skip games or do something simple for the older kids that will be there like a pinata or something. I can't see where our little guy will be able to partake in many games at this age.

Well seeing how I am so far away from our families, we are just planing on taking him to gymboree for a couple of hours on his birthday to play and then take him out to dinner for his hotdog and green beans that he loves. :)
