My little one just started with one popping through last week. She wont eat. Is constipated, cries and only wants to cuddle and nurse. The doctor said there was not much I could do but the usual. And if I was really concerned with the pain I could give her a little tempra. (but I want to avoid giving her tempra for everything, so...)

We use damp frozen clothes or freeze banana chuncks, or pear juice ice cubes for the munchin mesh bag on a ring. (since she isnt interested in the teething toys). The frozen banana chucks are often a good distraction though.

My pharmacist also suggested to me to stay away from chemicals and alcohol. Told me the only thing he would use for his boys was the homeopathic line they offer at Shoppers, called Camilia for teething pain by Boiron. But he said if I was going to go another route that alcohol is the lesser of the two evils. But we tried his suggestion and it seems to work great. I tasted it first and it just tastes like water. But we only use it when we have tried everything else.

I know its incredibly frustrating watching your little one get through the pain. Hopefully something works great for you. Good luck.

Highlands teething tablets found in the natural section of SOME pharmacy's and in natural food stores. Works like a dream. There are these little mesh holders that u can get at BRU that u put fruit or veggie into and then freeze. Then they can naw on that. Oralgel has been a dream for me too.

I give my guy a water bottle with the lid on tight. He chews on the lid sometimes I think he likes the ridges and sometimes he chews on the bottom, feels cold. If you like natural things Hylands has teething tablets and gel you can find at a health food store. Good Luck! Oh yeah and get a "Sophie Giraffe" if you don't have one

Biltong works like a charm....! ( Dried beef sticks long enough for them to hold but not swollow whole!!!) My dentist says the salt on the sticks is a little bit antiseptic...I give it to my girls...a 2 and a half year old for her last back mollers and my 7 month old for her first set.
It keeps them busy and they can work it as they please!!! The beef sticks have to be a bit soft and chewy though...so try it first! It really works!!
To take the edge off so that they can sleep at night...Tenston...but ask your pharmasist for a med that can do that! I get a made up mixture from my pharmasist...and my baby sleeps like a charm!!! 19h00 to 7h00...no waking up and this during the whole prosses...

Good luck and I hope you find something that works for your Baba!!!

It may sound bad.. but it works if you have a screamin baby! i let my daugher chew on the top of the tylenol bottle. she cant get medicine out of it and i check every now and then to make sure. she loves it and feels great on her sore gums. just a thought. as bad as it sounds though, it works!

I'm going through this too. The things I've tried and found a little help with are...

Infant Tylenol,

He loves to chew on a cold washrag, I keep a handful rotating in and out of the freezer.

TONS of chewy toys... I have even gotten him some squeaky doggie toys (new) they have smaller pieces that he can get into his mouth. Ears Noses and Feet from a little squeaky mouse seem to be his favorite. The bigger water filled rings are just too big to fit into his mouth like he wants. Also, the squeaky toys can be picked up for a LOT cheaper than baby teething toys. ($1 vs $7) I have a few pics of him chewing on a rubber hamburger and a rubber hotdog, they make PRECIOUS pictures.

The popcicles in the clear plastic bag. I trim down the side pieces, they are pretty long and sharp. I dont give him the drink inside, he just chews on the frozen package.

He also loves the rubber end of the medicine dropper.

Some of his smallest stuffed animals have become victim to his chewing frenzy too. The legs and tails are the right size.

I am also interested to hear what the other moms have to say, I spend my whole day thinking, "Hey, this would be great to chew on"
