I am looking for a good baby food mill/grinder to make baby food. Any recommendations? Also, any good baby food recipe books?

My children are nearing the age of 40 now. I cooked and mashed all their food from age 3 months, adding more and more as the months grew. I had 3 healthy babies. No food in a bottle in my house. And to this day they still love their veggies. And I saved a vast amount of money. I wonder how much it would be today? Alicia.

because my little one is nearly a year now i mash the food with a fork but i dont go by any receipe books he has whatever we are having if it is something spicey then he doenst but 9 times out of ten he is eating the same thing that we are i just think that as long as you eat a healthy diet then it is not going to hurt the little one and he loves the fact that he can see that we are all eating the same and he has not got some baby mush

I use Vitamix and it's AWESOME! I make big batches and freeze in ice cube trays. Prior to Vitamix, I used a regular blender and it worked well.

Ive just been fork mashing everything in a big bowl, its so easy to do a bit batch of veggies, then just freeze it all. Ready to reheat when needed. My lil man is loving all the soft lumps he gets from the fork mashed food. I used to use a hand held mixer to puree all his foods and that worked great too. The wholesome baby food site is great!

I love wholesomebabyfood.com, I haven't found the need to buy a book since that site is so complete. Also, I agree with Michele, I love my magic bullet. It's hard to do big batches of food but worth the time.

Babies R Us for the food mill, I found several good books at Goodwill. I use both organic jared baby food and we make our own (sometimes I cook spicy foods and we don't want our little one intriduce to that yet) I saved a couple of the empty jars to measure the amount I feed Gabriel when we make his food. that way I know that at dinner he ate the usually amount of food. Best or luck

I use the Beaba Baby Cook also. It is so easy to use and easy to clean up also! It is well worth the money.

The Beaba Baby Cook from Williams Sonoma is awesome! It steams and purees all in one!

go to wholesomebabyfood.com for the be-all and end-all of homade baby food, and i use a KidCo food mill, but find that i have better luck processing things with a mini-food processor. I usually back everything as opposed to steaming, so it can be a challenge to process some things but at least most of the nutrients are intact!

The Magic Bullet is awesome for making purees - and smoothies for mom! it grinds grains as well - rice, barley, etc. for making baby cereal. It is also compact and very easy to clean.

hey Jin..

Try wholesomefoods.com.. its good , simple and just a click away..

i make baby food at home.. if you dont have a baby food mill - just use a coffee bean grinder.. i guess it'll do the job. .. i use that and so far faced no issues..
