How many bottles per day?

Since your son is not eating much solid food, if I were you, I would cut back on the amount but stick to 4 bottles a day. Maybe 6 or 7 ounces each time. My 10-month old drinks 7 ounces, 4 times a day. They say no more than 32 ounces total per day.

my 9 month old is pretty much the same he has 4 7oz bottles he also has 2 jars ov baby food 4 tea. he hasn't taken 2 finger food and still has 2 have his food sloppy. he weighs 19lb 1oz

My ten month old eats about 3-4 8oz bottles a day, but he eats solids four times a day and he just hit 20lbs. I don't think that four bottles is too much, if he is tall and in a healthy percentile for his height i would not be concerned. Although solids are very important at this age, so for that maybe cut back a bottle.

My son is currently 4 1/2 months old and weighs in at a big 20 .52 lbs,, Strickly breast fed, so I dont know how much he gets.. Kids are different and will go at thee own pace.. As long as he is heatthy there is nothing wrong.. There is no book to tell you when he is ready for solids but remember to introduce 1 food at a time and try it at least 10 times before another.. He will then like it .. Good luck

Noticed your post and didn't want to read and run. Your son should be on approx 3 bottles per day until 9 months old, he should be having 18-22ozs per day, then drop it down to 2 bottles at 9 months but use 3oz in his breakfast and give cheese, yoghurts etc to get more calcium into him if you feel he is not having enough. My was 9lb 2oz and 58cms at birth and on the 91st centile, so quite a big girl!! she is now nearly 10 months old and weighed last week 22lb 4oz. She has 2, 7oz bottles in the morning and night, then i use 4oz in her breakfast so in total she has 18 oz of milk in the day, she has approx 4-6oz of hipp baby juice daily. Breakfast-cereal, toast or bread with cheese spread. lunch- savoury meal or sandwich, piece of fruit, a rice cake or handful of wotsits and juice, afternoon snack- fruit or organix finger foods or cheese cubes/veg sticks (depends on what we have in) dinner- savoury meal and petit filois youghurt. I think maybe you should try and get your little man to have more solids now and less milk as he should be on 3 meals a day by now, and try and cut the milk down to 18-22oz a day instead of 32oz as this is what is making him gain weight. I wouldn't worry too much about his weight as it will slow down and he will lose quite alot when he is more mobile and crawling, in door bouncer, walker etc. What your health visitor said?

My son is 9 months old. He has 4-5 ounces bottles a day and two jars of baby food, as well as some apple juice. He was drinking 7 ounces but our doctor advices us to give him less bc he was spitting up and more constipated.

My boy is 10 months now and he has 3 8oz bottles of follow on milk a day, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and bottles of cows milk too. He refuses water or juice but I'm persevering. Sounds like you need to cut back on the milk and try more solids.

My son has about 18-24 oz of formula a day. He eats three full meals a day and also has a snack. I usually give him table food now. But if me and dad are having something that is not heathly or to spicey, like chilli, then I will give him baby food mixed with rice cereal. My son is 21lbs I believe and the doc says he is above avarage with his height and weight (he always has been). Also, he does not have a bottle during the night.

I would try to put in some more baby food, I was told that most babies SHOULD be on 3 meals (baby food) a day. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. My child had some issues with this as well but they just told us to cut down on the bottle. like try to do a 5-6 ounce bottle and a jar of baby food. Usually feeding the bottle helps ease the baby into eating it better. : )

Hi,
My daughter from 4 months old, only had 2 x 7oz bottles a day. Because she slept right through the night and was on 3 meals a day from 4 months. So Summer would have one bottle before bed, and one on a morning when she would have a nap.
Not sure how much she weighs, but will get her weighed soon.
She has Breakfast
Bottle for Nap
Lunch-dessert
Dinner-dessert
Bottle for bed
I done this from 4 months old and she has slept right through the night since....has had her off nights when poorly and cutting teeth. x

Hi, I would say you are prob giving him too much milk and that is why he isn't eating his solids, he should be having between 17-20 ounces of milk in total a day which I break down for Ethan into a 7 ounce morning and bedtime bottle and a 5 ounce afternoon (post lunchtime nap) bottle. He happily eats all of his solids and he has 3 meals a day with a yogurt after lunch and some fruit after dinner.

my son is 8 months and 3 weeks (born 5th april) he weighs 23lbs. he has 3 6oz bottles of cow and gate for hungrier babies formula. he has breakfast. dinner + pudding, tea + pudding with snacks inbetween. try putting broken down rusks into his bottle then that will get him more use to the thicker texture more xx

Try feeding him breakfast then some bottle...same with the other meals at 8 months he needs more than bottles....he also would need water too...sounds like he is hungry...good luck

My son is almost 9 months and has a 5oz bottle with 3 tablespoons of rice, oatmeal, or barley for breakfast. Then three hours later will have a 7 oz bottle. Lunch he will get a 5oz bottle with a stage 2 of fruit. 3 hours later will have another 7oz bottle. Finally for dinner (at 5) he will have 1/3 of meat and about a half jar of stage 2 vegetables sometimes with a 5 oz bottle depending on what time his last bottle was at. Then before bed depending how early he wants to go to bed due to teething he may have a 5oz bottle.

my daughter is 8 months old and her current feeding schedule is as follows: (fyi., I buy all vegetables and some fruit and cook and puree myself) She get a 6oz bottle in the morning. The only jars i buy are for some fruits and meats. I mix in total 2oz of veggie with a teaspoon of protein (chicken, beef or lamb) & 1 oz of fruit for lunch & dinner. In the pm before dinner i giver her another 4oz-5ox bottle. At about 7pm 2 oz of cereal and a 4-5oz bottle at bedtime 8pm.

My daughter is 8 months old on the 17th Dec, she's weighs about 18 pounds, You may find that his weight may slow down if you can get him eating more solids and taking away 1 of his bottle feeds. My daughter has for breakfast either 1 full jar (stage 123) or 1 weetabix or 1 1/2 rusks made with follow on milk, then half an hour after she'll have a bottle of milk (8-9oz), Dinner: Half a Jar (stage 2) & a yoghurt or pudding, in the afternoon she will have another 8-9oz bottle of milk, Tea time at 5pm she'll have half a jar & a yoghurt or pudding then before bed she'll have another bottle of milk again she takes 8-9oz (using Jars as an example, she doesn't always have these, I do mash my own food too!). My daughter has been easy to get into routines though and she has just fallen into the routines I set her. Good Luck!

darcy is 8 months on x mas eve an weighs 22.5 punds , she has 3 7 oz bottles a day but of follow on milk an has breakfast , dinner + pudding , tea + pudding an supper . does he have follow on milk or stage 1 still ? also does he have baby jars or what you eat blended or mashed ?
