My one year old has turned into a whiny clingy picky eating mess, help!!

I have been having the same problem. My son turned 1 last week and it seemed over night that he has become so clingy!! He was never clingy before but will now only play alone for 5 min at the most before he wants me to pick him up. I think it is very normal at this age though. This is the age where they are starting to learn that they are separate from you and feel that when you leave the room or are out of view that you have left them. Try to play peek a boo games with your daughter to show her that even when you are out of sight you still always come back. It is just a phase and it will get better. all the best :)

oh yea, as for the picky eating, I think it's a phase. My son doesn't want to eat much right now either.

My son does exactly the same thing! I find it's also because he's tired. Also, around 6:30 everyday before daddy gets home my son whines the entire 30min and surprise when daddy gets home he's happy as a clam! My Son will point to himself and then point to something he wants, repeating until he gets it. Sleep, is def. his reason for starting to get whinny. He also gets more clumsy then usual as well.

Is she getting enough naps? My boy gets this way when he's sleepy. He starts following me around with that annoying whine and he's constantly tugging on my clothes. Don't wear jogging pants eeeeever again! He does this right before lunchtime, when he wakes in the morning at 7, he is fussy by 11, ready for a nap. He has another nap around 3, right when General Hospital comes on. He tends to get fussy while I am cooking dinner too. Sometimes the ONLY way I can keep cooking is to put him in a carrier and schlep him around the kitchen with me. But I only see this behavior when it's getting close to nap time. Now I may have to fight like a DAWG to get him to sleep, he doesn't think he's cranky because he's sleepy, so I do have to MAKE him nap sometimes, and this might mean putting dinner on 'low' and coming back to it in 20 minutes when the baby finally falls asleep.

Usually after a nice nap my sweet little boy shows up again :)
