my son was doing the same thing so what i started to do was give him some milk first just so hes not as hungry and then he would eat his fruit and cereal for breakfast and then the same thing for his veggies at lunch and dinner

My son is 51/2 months old i feed him a six oz bottle when he wakes up then between 8:30-9am i make him a 2 oz bottle and 2 1/2 ozs of fruit and cereal then at 12 i make him another 4 oz bottle and a whole jar of carrots or sweet potato then at 3 he gets a 6 oz bottle and at 5-6pm he gets another jar of veggies then before bed at 8pm he gets a bottle, if you want introduce more solid do one a week so you know if she has an allergy to them if shes good after a week introduce something new fruit or veggie...it all depends on the baby how much they eat she will let you know is shes full or still hungry.... hope this helps

My son cooper is also 6 months old he goes down at night between 7 and 7.30 then sleeps through till 6.30-7am and has half a bottle then yoghurt then wen he get tired he has the other half and goes for morning sleep, lunch at 11.30, bottle between 12.30 and 1 pm, and hopefully another sleep and then bottle at 3.30-4pm. tea between 5.30 and 6pm and the last bottle at 7pm. I"m sure bub will let you know if its not enough lol

HOW??? I am so jealous. I have been pleading at meal times with my little girl. She has no interest in graduating from the breast. I have a fruit and cereal routine in the morning and a veggie and fruit at night but most of this ends up in the trash. I am lucky to get two meals (of a third of the jar each) eatten in a week. I have tried different brands, making my own, changing up the times (within reason). I have tried doing it during the family meal and have tried without. Tried different seating arrangements. I have tried witholding breastfeeding around meal times until after the meal. Nothing. What am I doing wrong?

My daughter will be 7 months old on the 9th. She breastfeeds so I am never quite sure exactly how much milk she is getting. I let her nurse for as long as she wants when she wakes up, usually around 7. Cereal at 8 (about 4 oz), lunch around 12:30 (about 4.5 oz of solid food), then dinner around 5:30 (again, about 4.5 ounces of solid food). She once nurses between meals and after meals. It seems like a lot to me but she is actually on the "skinny" side (76%) for her weight and sleeps great at night! I hope this helps.

I think you are doing all the right things. I questioned it too around that time. I started mine on solids when she was 5 months and now she is 7 months. She gets breastfed anywhere from 4-5 times a day, a stage 2 fruit in the morning, lunch she either doesnt get solids or I give her a snack like puffs or yogurt("yobaby" is the best) with diluted apple juice in a sippy cup. Then when we eat dinner, we will give her her last solid of the day (a stage 2 veggie) with some rice or whole wheat cereal. I hope this helps. I did the SAME thing with mine that you did with yours, when I first started. She got a total of ONE jar per day (half in morning and half at night) but after her 6 month appointment, my doctor said to give her a whole jar each time....she's been good with that ever since.

Hi I have a 7 month old who has one 8oz bottle every four hours, he eats at 7:00am, bottle and serving and fruit, 11am bottle and fruit again. He also drinks water inbetween meals. 3pm bottle and a serving of veggies, and 7pm bottle and veggie again. I haven't started to give him meat yet, but I think I will start soon. Hope this helps.

My little guy eats 2-3 tablespoons of cereal and a stage 2 fruit for breakfast around 7am, then an 8oz bottle around 11, lunch around 12 which is either a stage 2 fruit or veggie and a 4oz bottle of diluted juice, either apple, pear, or white grape, another 8oz bottle around 3, dinner around 6 which is a stage 2 veggie and part of a stage 2 fruit, then an 8oz bottle around 7:30. His 3 8oz bottles all have 4 tablespoons of rice cereal in them due to him having reflux, doctor's orders. He also eats Gerber puffs each time he is in the high chair, and he just started drinking water from his sippy cup.

my little girl just turned 6 months and this is what we do. We wake about 8:30 at 9:00 eat a #2 jar of fruit and 3 tablespoons of cereal then we have lunch at 12:00 which is a 6 oz bottle w/2 tsp of cereal in it then the same at 3:00 then at 6:00 we have dinner which is 2 #2 of veggies and maybe a little fruit. Then at about 9:00 we have our last bottle. We are getting ready to cut out the 12:00 bottle and feed her lunch. I just went to the dr. and he said i am free with her diet - I can cut out bottles completely if I thought she would do it..... which she wont! But she even gets those gerber puffs when we are eating.... she does great!

Riley eats his cereal (just recently introduced mixed cereal with fruit) when he gets up in the morning and about 3-4 oz of a bottle, then naps. For lunch he eats half a jar of either a veggie or mixed meat and half of a jar of fruit and then he has some apple juice mixed with water and if he's still hungry another bottle. I've started giving him teething cookies as he has two teeth on bottom with another it looks like coming through. He'll then nap in the afternoon and have 1/2 jar of each for dinner and a bottle before bed. All babies are different though and I started him on rice cereal when he was 4.5 months as he was still hungry at night after a full 8 oz bottle, so it all depends on how much solids they eat during the day and when they started on solids I think.

I think every little one is different. How much a 6 month old should eat just depends on the baby. My little girl is an eating machines. I make all her food for her but nothing seems to fill her up. Shes just a bit over 6 months and Her routine is get up at 8 breastfed, breakfast at 9 which consists of a yogurt mixed with pureed fruit. She is then breastfed on demand until lunchtime which is around 1:30 when she has some pureed veg or something similar and purred fruit for dessert and then an 8oz bottle. she is breast fed on demand until dinner time at about 6 then she will have some sorta meat dish and pureed fruit for desert and tonight she wanted a baby yogurt after that. She then has a 9oz bottle before bed and will wake up 2-3 times during the night to be fed again. I always worried i was feeding her to much but ive been told shes just long. Just feed her what she wants, its usually hard to get them to eat anything at this point :) Good luck :D

For my little one, she gets 3-4 bottles of formula a day and has a full stage 2 for dinner. We have began to implement a stage 1 at lunch and cut the two bottles (about 1 hour after the solid food) from 6oz to 4oz. For the most part, she has led us when it came to her feeding schedule. Don't stress about the amount or what is being fed, as long as your little one is healthy and happy.

my daughter is 6 1/2 months and gets a 6 ounce bottle in am, lunch 4 ounce bottle 1/2 stage 2 jar of veggie food (and then i usually give her food in her fresh food mesh sassy bag she loves this thing), then a 6 ounce bottle at 3 in afternoon, then 1/2 jar of stage 2 food more in the mesh baggie as well and 4 ounce bottle at dinner, then cereal and 6 ounce bottle at night--- if its stage 1 she will eat the whole thing but stage 2 only 1/2--- she loves the following in her sassy food bag (peas,carrots,peaches,bananas,pears, apple,mashed potatoes, gerber puffs etc... this allows her to eat herself why i get to eat its awesome and she Loves the independence

your doing good your baby will let you know when they are ready for more like my son gets a jar of fruit mixed with cereal at 7:30, a jar of veggies with cereal at noonish and a meat around 5:30 plus 3 bottles of milk and a juice bottle sometimes he gets a bitter cookie or a frozen banana. you can always try feeding you baby at dinner too and see if they will take it other wise she will let you know when she is ready to eat the whole jar or more times a day. i hope that helps. oh p.s my son eats so much cause he is 28 inches and 19 lbs at 6 and 1/2 months, so just listen to your kid you really dont have to go off others as long as they is happy and healthy.

Since 6 months, I breastfeed baby at 7am (he wakes around 6:30), give 1/2 weetbix and 2-4tblespoons of pureed fruit (pears or prunes or peaches). He goes to sleep at 9am. Milk feed at 11am (he doesn't drink much), 12pm 2-4 tablespoons of meat (chicken or beef)/veg pureed plus 2-4 tablespoons fruit (or custard or both if he seems hungry enough). Sleep at 1pm then milk feed at 3pm (again he is not that interested in his milk). Small 20min nap at 4:30 then dinner at 5pm: approx 3/4 cup of mixed vegies (usually includes a starchy vege eg potato) plus small tub of baby yoghurt. I avoid giving fruit at dinner as I don't want him to have a high sugar level which may affect his sleeping. 6:30 milk feed. I have added in the yoghurt and custard due his decreased interest in morning and afternoon tea feeds. Both of these feeds are currently formula as for medical reasons I need to stop breastfeeding. He sleeps from 7pm-6:30am.

I got this regime from Sheyne Rowley's Dream Baby book. It has worked wonders with us! I have modified it slightly to suit us a bit better.

*I started my baby on solids at 4months under advice as he was not gaining weight quick enough so by 6 months his solids were well and truly established.

I have twin boys who have the same amount as your baby. The have been doing this now for almost 2 weeks I am thinking of giving them food with their lunch time feed soon as well. I am not sure if you do this as well but when I give them food they have little bit of water and a smaller bottle after of formula and they still seems to last as long. Or the other thing I was thinking of trying if feeding them more food and seeing how far down they will go with milk. The have 150ml bottles after food and 200ml every other time they don't have food. So I thought I would see if they had 2 jars and water if they would go with out their formula for that feed because 2 jar is about 200mls. I think it's all trial and error of what suits your baby.



My nurse told me that yhey can still live on just formula for the first 12 mths but I am getting tired of making bottles and would much prefer to make their food a few weeks in advance and freeze it. Especially when I have 2 of everything to do. :D Hope this was help

My son is 6 months and he also drinks 4 bottles a day...he has cereal in morning fruit after nap then lunch which is chicken and veggies, after second nap fruit again,then supper which i give just veggies and before he goes to bed cereal again...your supposed to give 2 fruit servings 2 veggies and one meat and my dr. told us about the cereal at night which i wasn't doing but my son doesn't seem to refuse it so i keep doing it...at what time you feed them really is up to you and your munchkin,hope it helps!!

Not sure if this helps as I guess all bubs are different, but my lil boy Cody is the same age, and he only drinks 3 bottles a day now and 2 lots of solids and seems to be happy. He has his 1st bottle @ 7.30am, solids @ 10.30, lunch bottle @ 12.30, solids @ 3.30 then his last bottle @ 6.30. He never cries for more food, and sleeps between 10 - 12 hours a night so I am assuming he is happy with the food he is eating. I guess for your lil bub just give as much as you think is enough. Your lil bub will tell you if it's too much or not enough!! Good luck x x
