Oh yes... my biggest issue is I am not able to get out for regular jogs because my DH works days and I work a swing shift.... Sure I have a jogging stroller wich worked wonders with losing weights after my second one... but I have three children and the oldest is borderline to big for it, but to have him walk alongside won't get my heart rate up... so I can only go for a good cardio workout with only two children, or none at all.

I too hear the "You look great" "Look at you! You've already back to your prepregnancy size!"

I think people forget exactly how thin you were before you had children. I still have 25 lbs left.

9 months to put it on, at least one year to take it off... but seriously, we can give ourselves two.

This time around, as I was sharing with my husband after a hard jog that the jiggling of my belly kept me going as I visualized shaking it all off, he told me he likes my extra curves.

[deleted account]

I went to the doctor and explained how stressed I was over my weight and how I was truly stressed out over it. He perscribed Adapex. I eat about 1000 calories a day and walk two miles with Zaleigh in her stroller. Since her birth I've lost 55lbs. But I've only lost 40 since I started dieting. The weight keeps coming off everyday.

everyones answer is great.... lately i feel like garbage when i look in the mirror. then i hear people saying you look great. i feel like i should be back to my pre-pregnancy weight/body already. But lets not kid ourselves, those celebs must be working out everyday all day to look the good so soon. i read that you should not begin to exercise untill 4 months after!!! put on a pair of jeans one size to big, it makes me feel good:)

I put on 3 stone with my son, think it was mainly due to my marzipan craving lol... i've lost 2 stone of it since having him and breastfeeding. Have also noticed lots of loose skin from where he stuck out to the front, funny thing is theres no fat under it, its just all skin. My main problem is that my hips and rib cage have expanded alot, so dont know if they will ever go back to normal... I can't fit into pre-pregnancy clothes mainly coz of my hip size and my boob/rib cage size! lol x

Zoha, dont worry about exercising alot as you will loose your milk hun. The most weight will be lost when you finish breastfeeding as your body is hanging onto it for reserves for the baby. Abit of swimming/walking/light exercise and eating healthy is the best thing at the moment xx

I am so glad to see i'm not the only one who hasn't lost the weight. I have started getting really down about it. I had a c section so my belly just hangs now. It's really gross looking. I want to cry everytime I see it. Lol. I went and met with a personal trainer today. I start on monday. I need someone to help me kick start this weight lose.

I too have gained 25kg. I had 2 pregnancies close together. My oldest daughter was 6 months old when I fell pregnant again, so I have 2 lots of weight gain to lose. Breast feeding made me gain even more weight ( I was always hungry!!) My maternity clothes were starting to get tight. I wouldn't let my husband push the stroller when we were out, I had to so I had an excuse to be this big. Being this big makes exercising hard ( when you feel your butt wobble behind you as your walking up a hill pushing a stroller, it is very disheartening, and embarassing) Unfortunately I had to stop breast feeding 3 1/2 weeks ago due to supply issues so I went to my GP and told him how despite eating healthy and exercising daily I was still not losing anything and how I think I was addicted to food ( I think it had become my emotional crutch) he put me on an appetite supressant called duramine. Your BMI has to be over 30 to go on it but it really works!! I have lost 5kg so far, 20kg to go but I dont even think about food anymore. There is still hope out there ladies :)

i'm really struugling too, for every 2lbs i loose i seem to put on 2lbs the next day AAARRRGGHHH. im still breastfeeding a couple of times a day and this doesn't seem to be making any difference either, excersize is tough cos i cant seem to find the time but its very frustrating having to buy new clothes in big sizes cos none of my own pre pregnancy clothes fit, as if i dont have enough things to spend my limited budget on with a new baby demanding toys etc. i still have over a stone and a half to loose and feeling thoroughly frumpy. i also had someone ask me when the baby was due the other day - just as i was putting my baby in the car - how embarrasing!!

Ha! I was just saying to my husband this morning how frustrated I am! My son is 4 months old now and I have only lost half of my pregnancy weight. I am exercising religiously and watching what I eat. He made me feel better by saying I was "in conversion" and muscle weighs more than fat. HAHA! But I am glad I am not the only one struggling! If anyone has any miracle solutions, send them my way!

DUDE!!! whoever said breast feeding makes you loose weight, LIED! I had gestational diabetes so I didn't gain much weight to begin weight and after I gave birth I was only 5 pounds over my original weight. I was feeling real good about that. The my milk came in and I gained another 5 pounds and no matter what I do, can't loose the dang weight. I tried working out and eating less, but my milk keeps looking like it may dry out. People say when you breast feed you loose weight. That has not been my experience and as far as I am concerned, that it is the reason why i still have my weight. I have always been a very fit person who ate well and was in shape and now I feel like I am still pregnant. The doctors don't make me feel any better either. She just keeps saying I need to eat better and exercise more. I have just dealt with the fact that while I am breast feeding, I am a fatty and after that, hope to god I can loose the weight:(

Ok so I totally know how you feel. It feels like its been so long and the weight just wont go down, I feel gross sometimes, but it is not easy to get rid of it. With my first child I gained 100 pounds (i know jaw dropping -ew i know) and it took me until last summer when she was 18 months old to get back to a weight were I was comfortable at - only to get pregnant again 2 months later. I was hoping this time would be a little faster and easier but it doesn't seem to be going my way, but when it does, it will be a great feeling!!

[deleted account]

I've breast fed all my babies including these twins and never lost an ounce because of it..I have to wait I guess until they're 6 months and try to start getting back into shape..Also, I've heard it takes a whole year for your body..including your metabolism to start to return to normal...If you find a miracle diet that requirs no change in eating habits or exersize please let me know:)

I had a hard time losing weight after my daughter. I kept asking the Docter why I was'nt losing weight after all I was breastfeeding. She said when I finished breastfeeding i would most likley see results and I did about two months later. Now am back at the same point. All I can suggest is be patient.

I really wanted to get in the work out mode right away but i had a c-sec so i had to wait and now that i have to get back i get lazy but im trying. I started going to the gym now so we'll see how that goes. All you ladies look amazing.

I'm soooo pleased to read all these posts, I lost loads to start with but my weight loss has come to a very stubborn stand still! I feel your pain ladies, having been a super slim size 8/10 before I fell pregnant being a size 16 now make me feel truly horrid! It is so much easier when u got the baby with you as no one look at you as if you have 7 heads as that makes u feel even worse. My saving grace is that my wonderfully suportive hubby is always telling me how wonderfully sexy I am and even though I dont feel it, it does make me feel a bit better!

i put on fifty pounds with my little one. lost thirty of it right after she was born, but then the loss stopped. now i'm doing weight watchers and have lost six more pounds. i think it was just really hard to convince my body that i really didn't need all that food anymore.

only thing is that you really have to be careful not to lose more than a pound a week while your breastfeeding or you have supply issues. a good reason to be glad you're not dropping the pounds too fast!!

Hello ladies. Reading what all of you posted made me feel a bit better about how I look. At least I'm not alone. My daughter is 4 months now but when I'm out on my own, I've had people ask me if I was pregnant. It's really demoralising. Like Suzanne, I also had gestational diabetes so it's even harder to lose weight now since I felt so deprived of the sweet stuff throughout 2nd and 3rd trimester.

I totally felt self-conscious my body if I went anywhere without my newborn with my first baby. I wanted her along with me to explain, "This is why I'm so mis-shapen."  So I guess I'm glad that this is pretty common to feel that way.

With my second baby, the one just born in April, I haven't felt that way because I could pretty quickly wear the clothes that I was wearing before I was pg with her (but still not down to the size I was before I had my 1st baby). i think that for now, I accepted being a larger size and had clothes to accomodate my body! :)

I lost all my baby weight (I was on a strict diet due to my gestational diabetes) but was hopeful that nursing my big fat baby (she's fat now, not when she was born) would help me drop some more weight that I really need to get off. I lost maybe 4 pounds but not any more. I know of one woman I worked with who lost 60 pounds by nursing her baby!

I know right? I had another c section so I have this overhang...I'd settle for some muffin top instead of this thing. My other half says I'm still sexy but I know he is full of it. I was hot when he met me...then again, he's 7 years older and greying a little...and has a pot belly all of a sudden. Still, it's different for us gals, so much pressure to be beautiful to be accepted....chin up, it will happen. Until then, we need to remember that sexy is a state of mind!

Phew! I thought it was just me! I've never been a size 16, in fact, I was a size 4 before pregnancy and that was after I had my first 3 kids. The last two babies have stretched me out and weighed me down! It doesnt' help that I had gestational diabetes until I gave birth in April so now I'm back to eating cookies and chocolate! Argh! I feel so unsexy...look at my profile pic, I keep it up there to torture myself. Thanks for all of your help girlinas, it makes me feel better.

I haven't lost anything at all. I'm sure I lost what the baby weighed (but he only weighed 5lbs 3.4oz) plus the fluid and whatnot but I think I gained that back while I was on maternity leave. I'm still waiting to lose anything but it isn't happening. My doctor said it's fine, that it took 9 months (or in my case 8) to put it on and it will take a while to take it off but we will see. I'm hoping it will go away.

I also feel weird going places as well without my son lol. but hopefully someday we'll all start to lose our baby fat and be back to our smaller size that we were before.
