I'm just not sure at what age you are supposed to have playdates. I am a stay-at-home mom and i am new to the area so i don't know a lot of children my daughter could play with.

That's the best! Just continue taking her out and see if you can connect with the parents!

I have many friends with babies and try to allow my daughter to be with them as much as possible. As for some babies being mean....she is testing her boundaries, if you allow her to get away with hair pulling and hitting, she will continue to do it. Children need to be exposed to other children, they are very aware of the fact that they are more similar to them than their own parents.
It doesn't have to cost anything like a mom's group, you could start exploring new parks and talking to other parents, or even posting something on Craigslist! What area are you in?

I joined a Moms group that meets once a week at my church and so my DD has been interacting with others since she was 5 months old. I also joined another playgroup recently through www.meetup.com It is a great website, you just enter your zip code and search for Mom groups and it will pop up a list of groups in your area. I hope this helps you find a group so that you can get out f the house and interact with others. :)

Yep! I have a couple other mommies in a playgroup that we get together with. We just let the babies crawl all over each other and smile while we visit and chase our older toddlers. LOL When my son was my only, I used to take him to the library for baby story and music time 3 times a week, which was free and like a play date.
