does anybody else's child growel? my little one growls, not all the time she does her babbles and working on getting her to say first words, but i think the reason why she growls is b/c shes mocking the dogs when they play... idk call me crazy but it is the cutest thing ever

Lily growls all the time. At first it was just when she was laying down and we'd have fun imitating each other back and forth. Now we chase each other around the house growling and she'll fall over laughing. She was saying the "mama" thing for a while, but stopped this past week: guess she got bored with it or something! =D I love this phase!

My son is 7 months and around halloween he started growling..it's soooo funny. The even better thing is he was a lion for his first halloween... guess he was trying to get into character...LOL

My daughter growls too. It's the funniest thing! We also don't have any pets. I don't remember my son doing it so this is a new sound for me to hear, coming out of a baby. It makes my husband and I laugh. :)

OMG! I'm so glad you posted that. My daughter growls all the time when she is happy and excited. I think she learned it from our dogs too. Our German shepherd "talks" through a low rumbling growl and Isabelle always "talks" back. Its so funny and cute.

Hey there....my son will be 7mo old on the 30th of November, and he growls!! It is the cutest thing ever....unless he does it when he's mad at me! lol He does it when he's playing, babbling, or when he's fighting sleep. He even put his blanket in his mouth, shakes his head, and growls all at the same time!! It's SO cute!!

My daughter makes growling noises from time to time but her favourite noise at the moment is da da, she says it constantly in different tones and pitches, it's sooo cute, just working on getting her to say mama next lol

My daughter growls every now and again and we don't have any pets. My other 4 kiddos did the same thing so, I think it's just part of growing and discovering. It's very funny when she does it and my husband and I will do it back to her to see if she'll immitate us. We're hit and miss with the immitation, she might be a little young still. No words yet, but I'm trying to get her to say mama.

My daughter growls all the time as well...inbetween her screaming! She was growling so much when she first figured it out her voice started to get hoarse! No first words yet but her dad and I are both trying (him daddy-me mommy) lol. It is very cute though I agree :-)

Yes, my son growls too. We do have a Beagle, but she doesn't growl. So I know it can't be him imitating the dog. I believe it is because he can feel the vibrations in his throat. I guess its apart of learning how to make new babbles and sounds! Good luck on the first words! My son said "Mama" last week! So exciting!
