Ok am I the only one with this problem? My son won't won't eat the finger foods I am not sure if it is a texture thing or what. How did you get your little one to eat them. Now I say this but I have 4 older ones but have never had this problem before. Thanks for any input you may have.

I've got 3 older ones - 15, 13 and 11 - and they all started on pureed foods for first solids. With Amy - born April 09 - I heard about Baby Led Solids/Weaning where you start them straight away on finger foods etc (Search on 'Google' about it) Mind you, they don't suggest you start solids until about 6 months, which is what I've done with all of mine. It has worked really well and Amy loves it. Believe it or not, they don't choke as they have a good gag reflex etc I wish I had've done this with the others. I do give her mushy Vita Brits with a spoon for breakfast but the rest of her meals are finger foods.

Mine took a while. He would pick up and put anything in his mouth, but food. It took the right food, Cheerios. Then he got the hang of it and will do several different foods. Although, I have to say, I tried bananas today. Bad idea. It's much more fun to squish bananas between your fingers than to eat them. I'm having a problem getting him to drink on his own. He still doesn't have teeth and all he wants to do is chew on the bottle. We tried a sippy cup with the same result. I'm hoping he'll do it when he's ready. I think patience is the key. Each in his/her own time.

My little guy does not want to do the finger food thing either....he will anything out of my hands but as soon as I put it down on his tray or a plate for him to eat...he just squishes it around and then throws it on the ground....I am not sure how to get them to eat them at all...maybe it is just a learning curve.....
