my daughter is 4 months 3 weeks and is 9 kilos. she was born at 8 pound 1 oz. she has 4 240ml bottles and a jar of baby food at lunch. a month and a week ago she was only 7.2 kilos . do you think this too fast. oh and she is 65cm.

Thats great that she is settled, you can thank the extra weight she has :) My little Mia is also a settled baby, when she doesn't have reflux that is. She is soooo different to Jessica ( my 1st daughter) she still gets unsettled during the night and she is 18 months old. She was a skinny little thing, very nervous, unsettled and always crying. I say the fatter the better LOL :)

she is a very settled baby she puts herself to sleep. she barely cries. she is always smiling and giggling. i'm blessed with a very easy baby thank god lol

Hi Melissa,
I weighed my daughter this afternoon at the GP's just after she had her injections. She has just turned 4 months and she weighs 7.5kg. Your daughter is well padded but I was always told by the pediatrician and my local early childhood center that you don't really worry about weight issues until they turn 2. Is she a settled baby? According to my pediatrician ( who is the head of pediatrics at the SAN and Westmead childrens hosp in Sydney) he said that babies don't over eat and they don't starve themselves, they eat what they need. If you are concerned make an appointment with your pediatrician or Gp to discuss it. They way I see it though, when they get sick ( and this is inevidable) we have to worry less if they lose a kg or 2. When my 1st daughter got gastro for the 1st time, she lost 3kg and because she was always under the 50th percentile I got soooo stressed trying to get her to gain weight again. You won't have to worry like that. As long as she is settled, sleeps well and is happy, worry about her weight when she gets older :)
