"Healthy sleep habbits happy child" by Marc Weissbluththe-this book is my bible. helped me with my 8 month old baby (now 4 years old) and now also with my 9 month old twin girls. best and most important point made by this book is that sleep is vital for babies. Parents should be on the lookout for signs their child might be suffering from lack of it, and should also make sure their lifestyles do not interfere with their child's healthy sleep. I also appreciated the author's input about sleep problems and solutions for older children.Going to bed earlier promotes later sleeping (weird, but true. As the author says, it's not logical. It's biological - sleep promotes sleep) It helped me understand what was I doing wrong and even made me feel better about myself when i was letting my babies cry for a couple minutes before they fell asleep.

My son takes one nap every day between 12:30-2:30 and he sleeps for usually two hours. He used to take two naps but he slept for such short periods of time that he didn't seem well rested for long. I've found that one nap works better, he sleeps longer and seems more balanced. That's just for my little guy

My daughter started herself on a one nap a day routine when she was a little over 8 months old. She wakes up between 7 and 730am and then eats breakfast at around 830-9. By 1130 she shows signs of tiredness so then I get her a bottle and she eats and then goes down for a nap between 12 and 1. She usually naps 2 1/2 to 3 hours!! I've noticed that she does better on one nap, she gets more rest that way. My goal was to have her on one nap a day by 11 months but she did that herself!! Before that she napped twice a day and they were each about 1 1/2 hours. She gets 3 meals a day and 2 snacks. Lately she has been going to bed between 930pm and 11pm. I let her go to bed when she is ready and she does just fine!!

My daughter Olivia is 9 months and she takes 1 nap and it can range from 1hr to 3 hrs. I usually get naptime started about 1130 and then just let her sleep till she wakes. Every child is different. Have you talked to the pediatrician? If she needs more naps, she should get them, but if she's waking up and never seeming like shes getting enough sleep, maybe a call to the pediatrician would give you some insight.

My daughter naps 2-4 times a day, 1-2 hours after she wakes from her night sleep, then again around lunch time and again at about 4 or 5, she go down again for her night sleep between 7 and 8. Sometimes shell miss her morning nap or her afternoon nap never her midday nap or she gets too grumpy. Try have her nap one more time during the day even if its only for 30mins, that may help!

my son either takes one long one around noon - if he sleeps in in hte mornings. or one around 1030 and another at 3. he goes to bed at 7pm - nitetime routine and nap routine are similar so he knows it's time for bed. i watch for day naps to see if/when he's tired. he sleeps with a few wake ups for nursing until 7/8am.

if you have a liter sleeper avoid car trips by naptime unless baby will sleep for full length. wow, if it's almost naptime and i take a five minute drive and he's out, he wakes up right when i stop the car and then is a crankpot. i try not to drive unless he will nap the whole drive.

My daughter still takes about 3 naps a day. About every 2 hours and she only will sleep for an hour to an hour and a half. She goes down between 9-10am, then between Noon-1pm, and then again between 4-5pm. I always make sure though that she doesn't sleep past 6 for her last nap so that she goes back down again by 8. She usually will sleep threw the night, but at least once a month she wakes up and I have to rock her a little and then put her back down.

My daughter wakes at 7.30am, has a 30 min nap at 10am, then she goes upstairs in her cot for her afternoon nap at 12.30pm & sleeps till 2.30pm, and if shes really tired she will have an extra 20 mins at 5.30pm before the bedtime routine & she goes bed at 7.30pm.

I have twin girls and they normally take 2 naps a day. They get up between 7-8 and then will take a nap around 9 sometimes they skip their morning nap though and then go down around noon and sleep pretty good then they will take a short 15 minute nap on the way home from the sitter each day. Normally if they only have about one 1 hour nap a day and then anyother napping is 20-25 minutes. I just let them sleep when they r tired during the day unless its close to bedtime

my daughter wakes up at 9 or 10 and takes a nap around 12;30 for an hour , then she wakes up we eat lunch around 2 and she goes back to bed around 3:30 for about 2-3 hours depending on the day. She then wakes up and we have dinner around 6 or 7 and she may take another short nap at around 9 or so maybe only for 1/2 hours she will then go to bed at 12 or 12:30pm. We have a very unique schedule because he daddy works in the evening and doesn't get home till 10 or so somethimes later. This allows her to see him. We normally go to bed at 1 ourselves.

Mine seems to be pretty much the same as everyone else, she sleeps through the night and has a morning nap at about 10 and an afternoon nap at like 2 or 3. She usually eats food in the morning when she gets up and in the evening but doesn't seem too interested in it for lunch!

My little girl wakes up between 8-9 and then wants to go back down for a nap by 10-10:30. She usually sleeps for two hours and then is up until 2:30 or 3 and back done for another 2 hour nap then she's in bed by 7-7:30 sometimes earlier just depends on her. She has always been this way even when she brand new she wanted to be in bed at those times she loves routine and gets very upset if it gets messed up! She is 9.5 months old now.

from what I've read on this babies 9/10 months old take a nap about every 3-4 hours but because babies vary greatly some need more some need less. I say follow your babies cues on it.

my little boy wakes between 07.30-8.00. He used to have a nap around 9am but has stopped wanting to sleep then. He has his lunch between 11.30-12.15. As soon as he has had his lunch, he goes down for his afternoon nap and sleeps for approx 2 hours. depending on how he has slept in the afternoon, he will nap around 4pm for about half and hour to 45 mins. At night he will go down between 7.30-8.30pm.

my daughter too is on a 2 nap a day schedule. usually sleeps from about 7p-7a, goes down at about 9 for a morning nap and naps about 2 hours, then goes down after lunch for another 3 hours or so. usually try to wake her up by 5 so she'll go to bed ok. seems like she sleeps about 20 hours a day, but is doing everything she should be doing at this point so not too worried about it. just thankful to have a good sleeper

I have twin boys they both get up at 6:30 and go back down for a nap at 9 then they are up by 10 and usually go back down at 1. Then they usually stay awake till there bed time at 6:30/7. Some afternoons one of them might go back down for a half hour at around 4:30. What I still do with my boys now is if I think they are looking tired I will go and put them in their cot and if in 20mins they are still wide awake I usually bring them back out.

My daughter wakes up at 8am. She takes two 1 1/2 hour naps a day- at 10am and 1:30pm. I start our bedtime routine at 7:30 and she is in bed by 8 every night. Sometimes she takes longer naps when she is more tired and then there are the days when she rarely naps, but this is our typical schedule. Hope that helps!
