My son turmed two the end of April and he didnt say many words before, only "mama" and "what's this" and some other little words he would repeat... he still doesn't say all that much clearly but is starting to put little sentences together, like "I poo" and "i'm done" he says "out" and juice" too oh and "NO!". Is it normal that he doesn't say much?

My son was 2 on 2nd April and he talks non stop - from the minute he wakes until he falls asleep at night. He's been like that for a few months. I don't know if it's because I talk to him all the time but I certainly think doing baby sign language with him helped. Because you are keeping eye contact all the time you are speaking they learn what shapes to make with their mouths to make the sounds. Sometimes I wish I could have 5 minutes peace but at least it's easy to communicate with him - he can tell us what's wrong or what he wants etc. Also, we have read books to him from when he could sit up. Try more eye contact or reading but his speech will come eventually don't worry.

ya i have seen that also, boys seem to be a bit slower when it comes to language.

My son is the same too!!! Only say a few words. I put him in pre-school hoping that he would start talking and i found out his 3 boys classmates are also having the same problem (speak a few words) which the 2 girls can speak simple sentences and answered when asked. So I guess it's normal for boys. (unless they dont say anything at all parents should be worry)
