Hi everyone,

Welcome to the April 2009 Babies community, where we chat about our April 2009 children and whatever else is on our minds!

To get things started, I thought it would be nice if we all introduced ourselves in this thread, which will be pinned to the community home page. Whether you're a Circle of Moms veteran or you're new to the site, let us know who you are, what you’re interested in, and what your lovely April 2009 child is up to right now, developmentally speaking!

Hello, my name is Theresa and i got 3 kids. My four year old, nathaniel , is doing really good really active and crazy at times. He loves his youngest sister and spends all his time playing on his leapfrog or with his older brother. He has a really big imagination and speaks fluently without making a mistake. He takes sometime with challenging words at times but that's because he challenges himself unlike my oldest who doesn't really care to challenge himself. Nathaniel picks up on things really fast and is smart even when he pretends he isn't smart. :P I'm a stay at home mom who blogs and works on websites / I'm a YouTube. My self confidece is a little low due to my sons father but my self confidence is building up again. I'm with a new man which is my daughters father and both my sons have taken a liking to him.

Hi! My Name is Jennifer and I have two sons, Wyatt and Noah. Noah is my April baby, born April 9, 2009 making him 2 years 4 months. I am a SAHM, a chairperson on our SF mothers group,I organize the community Halloween party, help organize our mother and kid coastal cleanup and try to stay as active and involved in the day to day of my children's lives to have a positive impact. Noah is a very vocal and gregarious two year old. His brother Wyatt was born 3 months premature so we dealt with development delays the first few years and still do. Comparatively, Noah seems to be developing at a speedy pace. He is a very “athletic” kid, loves to kick the soccer ball down the field, throw a football, etc. He is also bright for his age. Speaks sentences and has for sometime. He can tell you any letter of the alphabet if you point to it and he can add and subtract. At 17 months he would put oranges on a table and say 1, 2, 3 - 3 oranges!, then he would put one back and say 1, 2 - 2 oranges! He does this with other objects as well, toy cars, firetrucks, etc. He remembers songs, movements, stories, etc. Is this because he has an older brother and he is learning at a faster pace? Is this a normal development and we just had a first baby that had development delays so it feels like he is excelling at a rapid pace? My ped was surprised by him as well but I can’t help but think she was just being nice. Thanks for inviting me to the group!

Trevor is developmentally delayed so if anyone has experience in this area or can give me any advice, I would really appreciate it. Trevor is a wonderful little boy, but gets frustrated because he can't communicate or walk and run like his friends. Thank you for inviting me to this group.

My name is Casey and I am a working mother of Jonathan who turned two in April. I am new to this site so I'm still figuring out how things work. Jonathan recently learned to count to seven. He likes pointing out colors and shapes and is a conversationalist. He just started with embarrassing comments, asking my house mate why he has such a big belly! lol.. I know there are many more to come. He loves riding his scooter and his tricycle. He really enjoys eating kale and cooked spinach but won't touch broccoli or carrots! I still serve him the veggies he doesn't like on a regular basis hoping he'll change his mind, which he's done in the past. Our challenge right now is the dentist... getting him more comfortable with her and his wanting to brush his teeth all by himself with no help, which isn't the most efficient. So we're working on it~! ( :

My name is Renee Mckissack I am 34yrs old and I am a single mom of two boys. My youngest,Kendall, was born April 2009 and we are new to this site but excited. Kendall, is so different from my first born and when I say different I mean so very active. I can say he is definitely giving me my exercise in full from him running so fast, climbing on the tables and being a very picky eater. He will not eat meat so it throws me on whether he is full enough after he eats.

I love both my boys to pieces. I am very blessed since I have my mother watch Kendall. My oldest Javonte,13 helps me alot as well. Both of them are as different as day and night. My oldest will not eat any veggies(I usually fool him by mixing it in potatoes or substitute with fruit) but will eat meat. Together they are perfect. When I gave birth to Kendall Javonte was 11yrs old so it had been awhile since I had to worry about changing diapers, potty training, etc..The journey is so worth it when I get my kisses and hugs.

My name is Kristina Philbin a 27 year old working mom. I would love to stay home with my 2 wonderful children everyday or at least a couple days during the week but it isn't feasible at this point in our lives. I have a 4 year old daughter who is the sweetest little thing i have ever seen, she is my sidekick, tells my how much she loves my everyday and just always wants to be near me, i also have a 2 year son named Joseph who is so much fun and adorable. He is definatley a boy and does get into absolutely everything all the time but it keeps me on my toes. My husband is a new business owner of a fast growing Electrical Company, and i am a Realtor dealing in existing homes, new construction, and land sales here in Nebraska. I guess you can say we have the all American family and i am very proud of the life we have built together. I wouldn't trade the gift of motherhood for the world, my children are so special and i can not wait to see who they grow up to be.

HELLO EVERYONE!! My name is Tiffany. I am a 24 year old stay at home, working from home mother. My husband and I recently celebrated our 5 year anniversary. My children are my pride and joy. About two years ago staying at home really started to take a toll on me so I started researching for work from home jobs. It took me a year and a half of weeding through all the scams of paying upfront, promises of jobs that never turned out, and other crap to finally get to where I am. Now I am a working mother, who gets to stay at home with her children :-) (http://www.wahmjobfinder.com/tiffanyroma...) I really enjoy sports and outdoor activities. I am an on the go kind of person. My daighters are very hard to seperate, sometimes. Its cute, but Im nervous with my 3 year old starting school next year that it is going to be hard on the baby. Any advice?

My son is 20 months and has been sleeping through the night for some time. He doesn't nap and runs out all of his energy throughout the day. At 8 we read a story, have a cup of milk (which quenches his thirst and any possible hunger), snuggle and he falls asleep. Most nights he gets a small dose of Mylicon for gas (he has a very sensitive stomach) and he tends to sleep better that way. Bedtime Bath is always helpful, too.
Good luck, Neena!!

2. If yes.. how?

Hi! My name is Kelly. I've been a part of this group for a while and I don't think I've posted anything! I am a mostly stay at home mom of 2. Lucas is 4 and Sebastian is my April 2009 baby- born the 9th. He recently destroyed the top rail of his crib, something I never experienced with my first son. I now have a rail cover on it. He loves to climb and gets into EVERYTHING. He's very curious and he likes to know how things work. He doesn't say many words, but he does know mom, dada, mama (grandma), kitty, doggy, nose, thank you (tiyoo), cheese, ball, shoes... and a bunch of gibberish. Both he and his brother are really good eaters. I was expecting the worst since my sisters and I were all very picky eaters growing up. We try to keep him on a schedule for naps and bedtime but he likes to defy it. Naps usually aren't a problem and are almost always 2 hours, but bedtime brings out the crazy in him, no matter what we do. He's a night owl most nights and he likes to sleep in. My other son is an early bird so sometimes it can get crazy. Looking forward to hearing great ideas from all of you!

He understands "No!" he insists on taking over from me when i get the vacuume cleaner out.. and he even runs his own bath at bath time! All i have to do is open the bathroom door after i have put the plug in.. and he crawls so fast from wherever he is in the house and stands up then edges his way to the taps.. he turns on taps and waits for the water to fill up the bath.. when i say fill up i mean a few inches! Then he looks up at me. with that face meaning he wants to get in it! lol

Yes - I know, 9 yrs is a loooong time between kids, but that's ok - Taylor is a great help with Christian and I'll have a babysitter soon! LOL
Christian sure keeps us on our toes! He's into everything - and I consider myself lucky because he's not the kind of child that puts EVERYTHING in his mouth, and he understands "no!" I'm very fortunate! =) He's now trying to feed himself by spoon. It's been a messy learning process, but I've gotten some great pictures out of it!
