My son is 6-1/2 months old. He is a very happy baby, thank goodness! He sits up for extended amounts of time on his on. Can roll over but prefers not too. Can say hey, hi, yeah, dada, and doggy. no mommy yet :( . He likes grasping for things now and loves to give kisses. He also can raise his upper body up from a lay down position. Can stand straight up from a sit down position... of course I have to hurry up and catch him b/c he doesn't have balance yet. Hoping that he will grasp the concept of crawling soon cause he is 22 lbs... gets kinda heavy lol.

hi. my daughter ava is 7 an half months old now, she has been rolling since she was 4 months onto and off her tummy. she cant crawl properly but she gets on her knees and does army shuffles lol and she also bum shuffles and turns her body with her legs. she doesnt walk along furniture yet that is way advance for this age, she does do steps if i hold her hands though. she can sit unsupported, she drinks out of a beaker for herself she tries to feed herself but she ends up with more down her than in her mouth lol. she can say dada and bobo and shhhh lol she also copies us wen we pull faces blow rasberries etc... shes thinks its hilarious when we go arrrrrghhh naughty and has a right temper. she laughs at everything and is very ticklish. she recognises her own name and mummy and daddy. she still has no teeth but is tething at the moment. all babies are different though every developes differently at different stages.

My son is 6.5 months old. he sees a early intervention specialists because of failed hearing tests and once a month they do a motor skills assesment on him. According to standard assessment tests my son has advanced motor skills for his age. Scored between 8 and 9 months old and this is what he does. He transfers objects from hand to hand. babbles several sylabuls at a time ma ma ba ba da da. Has had teach since he was 4 months old, crawls, pulls him self up on furniture to standing position. But that is not important. he has slept through the night since he was 2 weeks old and is very mellow tempered, never cries, just gets fussy when hungry sometimes. that is most important.

my little girl started sitting up leaning forward with her weight on her hands at 18 weeks, Largely due to having hip dysplasia and leg splints for 8 weeks. She was uncomfortable on her back because of the splints so she spent a large amount of time propped up on the couch....now she is sitting up and reaching to get toys, taking the occasional tumble...interestingly enough tho she absolutely wont roll over, again i think due to the leg splints and not spending much time on her back. she is happy, smiley and VERY vocal.....bub bub bub and mum mum mum is all i hear (although Dad is a little disappointed that she cant say dad dad dad yet), she started sleeping thru at 8 weeks and is still a great sleeper (except for recent battles with tonsilitis and croup :( )

My son is 6 months and 4 weeks old. He sits up independently and rolls everywhere. He also is very vocal. More important then how advanced he is is the fact that he is always happy, smiling and laughing and hardly ever cries. He sleeps through the night and has been since he was 6 weeks and I am only nursing. I think temperament is more important than who does what first.

My son Riley is 7 months on the 20th. He commando crawls (when he can as we have hardwood floors and he'd rather crawl on the blanket) Rolling everywhere to catch up with his big brother. Very vocal, sits unsupported until he get's bored and realises he isnt moving. And has no teeth. Hasnt worked out how to use his legs properly to walk as he hates his walker, cant stand holding onto furniture as he gets overly excited very easily.

His big brother didnt crawl till he was 1 year old and was up walking around 2 weeks later so R is a completly different baby.

Sadie will be 7 mo. tomorrow. She can sit up and sit herself back up from crawling position. She crawls forward a little, but can mover herself across the room backwards. She prefers to roll and sit herself up to get wher she wants to go. She also can stand on her knees and stand up by herself holding on to the furniture. She's not cruising yet, but I'm sure it's coming soon. I was an early walker, 9mo. So i'm interested to see what she will do. She doesn't have any teeth yet, but I can feel a start of one on the bottom and she has been bitting me the last couple of days. She does say hi and open and close her hand like she is waving bye-bye. She can say mama, dada, nana, and baba. She just started the b and d sounds this week.

My Sara is 7 months now... She rolls herself if she wants to move..She doesn't crawl yet, although she will occasionally lift herself into a crawling position and just rock back and forth... She hates tummy time, and prefers to be held in a standing position.. She loves pushing herself around in her walker.. I think maybe she wants to skip the whole crawl on the floor phase.. She can't lift herself up yet, and also has no teeth yet, although I think she'll be getting her first on the bottom any day now.. She did say her first word, "Mama", and occasionally will wave bye-bye as I drop her off at my parents in the mornings. She is extremely stubborn and gets easily frustrated if she can't accomplish what she's trying to do...But she seems comfortable moving in her own way, so I just let her do it :)

My baby girl is 7 months on Saturday. She's just rolling everywhere, almost kind of crawling, no teeth, would love to sit up, but can't do it yet. She's just a happy content bub. Walking around furniture is very advanced for this age, wow to the babies that do that already, I don't know any who could do that so early! They all do things at different times, don't worry if your bub seems "behind" because they're not.....as long as they're out of nappies by the time they start school!

Scarlett is my first child so I don't have anyone else to compare her to development wise. She sits unsupported really well now and doesn't fall when she reaches to grab a toy etc, she has never realy been much for rollbut can do if she has to lol (think she's a bit lazy), she hasn't tried to crawl yet and has no teeth although you can see bumps in her mouth along her gums so hoping it won't be too much longer. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can encourgae her to start crawling?

Jillian is my 3rd and she can roll both ways, but doesn't like to spend time on her tummy. She can sit really well unsupported now, but occasionally still tips over if she reaches too far for a toy. She is not crawling yet, but none of my other two children crawled this early either. She doesn't have any teeth yet either.

Abigail is my third and has two big brothers to keep up with. She is almost 6 1/2 months and she is crawling, pulling herself up and cruising around the furniture. I have loads of friends whose babies didn't crawl until 9 months or never crawled at all. One of my friends baby's used to roll every where until she learned to walk at 15 months. It was pretty cute. It's always interesting to me the variety in developmental stages. Iw onder if it's the child or the way tat child is parented. All three of mine could crawl really well by 6 months, and both of my boys were walking as their primary mode of transportation by 10 months. I hope my third follows suit, then she won't ruin loads of clothes from crawling on the ground :)

My daughter Kailee is also 6 1/2 months old. She rolls and sits unsupported for a short period of time but then falls over when she reaches too far for a toy. She's very vocal. She doesn't crawl yet. She does not have any teeth yet although I hope sometime soon - she's been pretty cranky lately.

My son is going on 7 months next week actually. He is crawling, rolling obviously, sitting himself up, pulling up, and furniture walking. Not sure if thats advanced since all babies are different. He also has 4 teeth already, which is not good given he's bf :(
