hello,my son just turned (9months on jan.9th and just as of today started crawling..so be patient it will come lol.he started by scooting so if ur little one is doing that gonna be no time before she crawls..then they will start getting into everything.hope that helps...victoria

Hey, i have twin girls with the same birthday as yours!!! And up to 8 months they developed very much equally, but now my one twin started crawling/shuffling on her tummy and she is very strong in her upper body so manuevre hereself everywhere. My other twin is not even close to crawling. She just sits and watches, she also doenst like lying on her tummy at all and does not even try to push herself up on her arms... So yes, they are all different. I think at the end of the day my 2nd twin will just shuffle on her bum and one day get up and walk....

No worries. My daughter started crawling at 6 months and then at 7 months, tried to walk along the furniture. Every baby is different and most don't really start trying until around 8 or 9 months. You might want to look into getting the "What to Expect" books to help you along.

Don't worry I think there are alot of us who have April babies not crawling. I keep seeing how some babies have started walking already and get a bit worried but then remember it's perfectly normal and Maddie will crawl when she is ready or maybe not at all. I try to encourage her by putting her toys out of reach...she looks at me like I am crazy and just stares at them. She hates being on her tummy!!! If you put her in her walker she actually runs all over so maybe she will be one of the babies who skip crawling all together. I really wouldn't be concerned though, just try to get some tummy time with her and I am sure she will be crawling all over soon enough!

Every baby develops differently. My son is 9 months old and he doesn't crawl yet either. I think that as long as she is showing signs that she is starting to she is where she should be. The main point is that every baby is different. Just because your baby is not doing things that other babies her age that you know are doing right now, she may be more advanced in other areas. I think as new mothers we tend to worry about these things, but she'll learn to crawl when she's ready. even if it takes a little longer. I hope this helps you a little. Good luck!

As long as she is getting around somehow; scooting, rolling, etc... some babies never crawl they go from the ground to pullling themselves up then bam walking. Check out babycenter.com they have a ton of information.

My son will be 9 months on the 26th of January, and he's not crawling either. He will roll like crazy, and loves to stand and jump in his Einstein bouncy, but refuses to crawl - frankly, hates to be on his tummy! Don't stress over it - every baby is different!

my son will be 9 months on the 18th of January and he hasn't crawl yet either. Don't worry too much about it because some baby will never crawl. My mother told me that neither me nor my brother crawl, we just went from sitting to walking.

some babies are slow at development just give it time.. when you guys have tummy time... try putting her on her knees and hands and move with her.. thats what i did with my son and he is crawling now.. but jsut give it time

My daughter will be 9 months on the 25th. She doesn't crawl yet either. She rolls all over and over and over, and hops a little, lol. My son who is almost 10 was crawling at 8 months. So all babies are different and they all move at their own pace. You have to concentrate on what they ARE doing not what they aren't....or else you will go crazy.

hiya - Betha is the same and she is 9 months on 18 Jan. She rolls onto her tummy and sometimes pushes herself about, and had bum shuffled twice in the last few days - but no sign of her pulling herself up or standing yet! i went to the HV this week and they said its fine,just to keep encouraging her by giving her plenty time on the floor, and to move her toys out of her reach so she has to move about to get them!

My daughter will be 9 months on the 25th of January and has just started rocking back and forth on her hands and knees. She just rolls or bum scoots when she wants to get around. One of her little friends was crawling at 5 1/2 months and is standing and furniture walking all the time now. I'm not worried... You can't compare them to other babies. Also genetics comes into play... If you walked late and so did the dad most likely your baby will too.

each baby is different and as Angie said some just don't bother crawling. My daughter doesn't crawl but she's standing up and making an effort to at least pull herself and roll from point A to point B. As long as he's moving around in some fashion it should be fine, if he doens't crawl when he's closer to 11 months then I would start to be concerned, but talk to your doctor at his 9 month checkup.

my daughter never crawled. She is 3 now, and is perfectly fine. She rolled around, and did the army crawl, but she wanted nothing to do with it really. Went right to walking. My almost 9 month old son has been crawling since 6 months, so just shows how different babies are.

Just dont blink or you will miss how fast they can go from nothing to doing everything. My son on his 8month bday went from nothing to crawling and standing on his own ALL in one day!! Every child progresses differently. Mine also has 8 teeth and is 9 months on 1/16 which blows my mind!! The doc will tell you if you ever need to worry... one day you will look back and wish they would take their time with all of growing up :-)

my daughter rebecca will be 9 months on jan 23...she's not crawling yet either, but she's almost there. hang in there! she will do it when she's ready...just give her lots of opportunities to crawl! place her favorite toys out of arm's length, it will encourage her to go for them.

she probably has a 9 month visit to her pediatrician coming up...if she's not crawling by then, and you're still concerned, bring it up to your pediatrician.

i've worked in child care for many years, and i've seen some babies skip crawling...they find other ways to get around. one baby i cared for went straight to standing around 7 months, then was walking around 11 months.

I hate feeling that she's behind especially when I know people who want to go on and on about all the amazing things their kid can do already. UGH! But my daughter doesn't seem to be interested in crawling at all. She get's everywhere she wants to by rolling and then spinning around on her belly or pushing herself backwards.

just wanted to say our babies have the same birthday! Anyway mine doesn't crawl yet either. Of course he's number three and I am not in a hurry to start chasing him. He didn't even sit up on his own till the day after he turned 8 months, he's just lazy. So, I wouldn't worry, as long as she is moving and wiggling.

My son will be 9 months on Jan 15 and he doesn't crawl yet. Being my 3rd child I have learned that they all do things differently at different times. Someone once said to me that everything evens out for children around the age of 2 - and I found that by the time my girls were 2, there was no need for worrying about the timing of milestones previous to that.

All babies are different, My friend is a nanny and one of her families children all crawled late! the youngest only started when he was just turning one! I fyou are stil worried just talk to plunket on your next visit but i would not be worried ATM

Collin just turned 9 months on the 7th. He isn't even close to crawling. He won't use his legs at all. Most kids will at least stand on your lap. This kid will not use his legs for anything. I asked the Dr and he said he is kinda of a big baby and big babies tend to be lazy. I was worried because both my other kids were crawling and crusing at 8 months. The dr told me it is nothing to worry about.

my little lazy bones is just the same, she is 9 months on the 19th and refuses to crawl. i have tried every trick in the book and some that are just an out right bribe. but she wont move.
i have worked in childcare for nearly 15 years and can tell you that no child is text book- what your little one does is normal for her- just seems we have lazy girls- who would rather sit back and watch the world.

Not to worry... My son will be 9 months on the 22nd and he just started to crawl... at his last check up my Dr. said only 80% of babies actually crawl the other find other ways to get around... :) I think if she is still getting around however little that may be, she is on the right path...

my daughter started crawling at 5/6 months. now shes trying walk at 9 months. but any doctor will tell and so will every mom. every baby is different. if the doctor thinks anything is wrong with your daughter, then they would most likely tell you. so I wouldnt worry too much.

My baby is 8 months, will be 9 months on the 29th -January. He is just starting to crawl- every baby is different and hits the milestones at different levels. Do you let her sit on the floor and have playtime- that is when they really try to get around. You may want to get the book "What to Expect the 1st Year"- there are many books with information that can be useful- however, keep in mind each baby reaches the milestones on different levels. The books out there give you a generalization. Overall- don't worry yourself and listen to other people who tell you their baby sat up at 2 months young-- :) enjoy your baby!

Don't worry about it too much, some babies never crawl, they skip it completely. Some babies 'bum-shuffle' instead or roll around. Is she moving around the floor at all?
