My 2 year old is a very defiant one and has me gasping for air and sighing (which she then imitates!).
She thinks I'm a gas bag and pretty much laughs at my attempts to tell her no by saying no in return.
If I get really mad, she looks so hurt- very affective! What else can I do when she is pushing my buttons to get away from the power struggle and maintain some balance?

I've been a preschool teacher for 10 years and the best advice I ever recieved is "feet first" It just means if she's doing something she shouldn't go over to her and stop the behavior. Saying no from a distance just doesn't work at this age. She has to know you are going to make sure she stops the bad behavior. Also consistancy-same rules and consequences everyday. Hope this doesn't sound too harsh, hope it helps and good luck, 2s are HARD!
