Need help with potty training!!!

My son is now 3 and is not interested in potty training! He doesn't mind sitting down on the toilet but nothing happens when he does. The times I tell him he can have a "surprise" or anything to bribe him with, he says he wants to go pee...sits on the toilet but nothing happens. It's like he doesn't know how to make himself pee! He will sit there for a while and still nothing!
Any advise will help!!!

Hi Cindy,
I am right there with you. I have literally tried everything. My son has been peeing in the potty off and on for almost a year but won't poop. He knows how but refuses. I've talked with a lot of other moms and they always say that boys take longer and when they're ready they'll go. I also have tried the bribing and that got me nowhere. I don't know if your son is wearing pullups but mine has been and uses them just like diapers. My next step is going to be to take away the pullups and tell them he's too big for them. Hopefully it will work. Good luck to you and I feel your pain!

have you tried standing up and peeing ? i had trouble with my son sitting in one place for a long time then we went camping he saw my husband peeing on a tree he thought it was the coolest thing ever !!! so i let him be in his shorts and pee on a tree so after that i got him went on walks in the near by forest and let him pee on trees n rocks then brought that home and made up a peeing game with toilet paper see if he can sink the paper ships he is fully potty trained now hope that helps plus a naked time is great with potty training
