My daughter turned 1 on the 19th. We have been trying to give her solid food since she was 11 months old and having issues. We think she has a very sensitive gag reflex and when ever she gets something chunky or thicker then the stage 2 foods she gags on it and throws it up..Its getting frustrating. We have tried everything from mashed potatoes to soft veggies. But she will eat pancakes. She actually loves them. We have tried stage 3 foods and we really have to puree them first. Does anyone have any ideas.. Thanks

my boy is a rascal at the moment he is really only eating fruit or sweet stuff . At the moment I am trying my friends theory that it is independance that he needs. So I am giving him sticks of steamed vege and soft finger food. Im even letting him eat his cereal with his fingers it makes a mess but is working a treat. I think the theory is that they bite off what they can handle rather than us shovelling it in. good luck

My son loves both grits and instant oatmeal, which both come in a varitey of flavors. You can start out making both thinner by adding
more milk or water. This worked well for us. Good luck!
