Hey Mummies... I was in Coles the other day and seen there is a new brand of nappies - Pampers. I really wished they had a display nappy out so I could have seen what they are like. I have had alot of trouble with nappies and keep to huggies but I was wondering how alike they are? Feedbak would be great

I find Mamia Aldi brand nappies the BEST & they are one of the cheapest (56 nappies for $15.99)! I used them on my son without leakages when Huggies failed & now for my daughter. They can also do nightshift no problems! Nearly all my friends have changed to using them now too. I haven't tried Pampers but imagine they would be much more expensive - so I don't feel the need to try them.

Hi Kate, in my opinion you ought to keep using Huggies! We use Huggies Pure and Natural and they are the best. For the first few weeks we used Pampers Swadlers only because they were given to us. However, I was very discouraged with Pampers after reading the ingredients and finding beads of petroleum on our son. That was when I started some research online and found the "Huggies Pure and Natural" and they sent me free samples! Also, one time my husband bought some Pampers on sale when our son was about five months and I couldn't stand them! They made our babies skin bright red and I got a migraine from the horrible fragrance in them! Seriously, try the "Pure and Naturals" if you can in the U.K. In the states they are often on sale at Safeway.
Sincerely, Katie

I've used them and i didnt have any problems with leaking. They are quite thin, which is fine. I first looked at them and thought they arent going to keep anything in but they seemed to. The only thing i noticed is that with huggiesseems to draw the wee away from baby, but i think because pampers are so thin in kinda hangs around close by. Just meant i changed my lil boy more often.

i have notice that pampers swadlers are good but that in the early stages once you reach stage two huggies are better. for me the pampers always had an awful odor and it leaked when they slept at night. u should buy a small pack and see what works for u then choose

We use Pampers with our son. sometimes he gets a little poop up the back when its a big one, but when I used huggies i constantly had to change his sheets because he would leak right through the huggies!!!!!

I love Pampers Swaddlers for Newborns and I've used Pampers Cruisers since my dd grew out of the Swaddlers. I love them because they don't leak as much as the Huggies and they are far less bulky.

i've tried just about all available brands of diapers: pampers, huggies, luvs, up&up (target brand), and parents choice (walmart brand). so far i like pampers the best, i get the baby dry kind because they literally keep him dry for hours. they are a little bit pricier, but if you consider that you don't have to change the diaper as often, it really does even out. i buy a case every 2 and a half to 3 weeks, and it's $25 for the large box. with huggies, he leaked almost every single time, so after the third diaper i pitched those. the other brands either leaked or felt like a plastic bag so i couldn't imagine him being comfortable in them! pampers makes another kind, called "cruisers", but they're much more expensive and i honestly couldn't tell a difference between the cruisers and the baby dry. every baby is different and the different diapers "sit" differently on each baby, so my advice: try multiple brands and see which ones you like best :) good luck!

I don't like pampers, and I'm not a fan of huggies although I don't mind the huggies pull ups. I actually use the Asda own brand, little angels and I love them, have no issues at all

I've used both, but switched to huggies, since he leaked a lot with pampers. I've heard from a lot of moms that pampers works better for girls and huggies better for boys, but then I am sure it depends on every child. I bought a package of Target diapers, "UP" brand, to try out, because they are much cheaper. They seem to absorb very well. No leakage yet.

i've tried huggies before they are too small for my LO and she leaks out of them. I have used pampers since she was born & i love them. i am now using baby dry size 5 on her

I use huggies religously after bad experiences with so many other nappies, but I bought the pampers cruisers because their ad insisted that they kept baby dry for up to 12 hours. It was true. They were amazing, so now I use the Pampers at night and the huggies during the day. Keep your eye out for when they are on special though..

i prefer huggies because they are the only diaper that does not leak through the night when my kids slept. and i also noticed with pamper they fluff up real fast when wet like the cheaper no name diapers. so i say huggies. lol

My son is 4 and a half and i used pampers on him from birth. Huggies when wet used to make his vest damp but pampers never do. Much much better!!!

Huggies leak like a faucet. Pampers are the only ones that ive found that do NOT leak.

I went with Pampers because I have a girl and my friends with girls also said they were best for non-leakage. My friends with boys say the same...well reversed, that Huggies are great for boys. It makes sense that there would have to be a design difference due to the body shape differences. Not sure why Pampers seems to be better for girls but so far our sheets have been safe (about 10& 1/2 months).

Pampers makes Luvs. I use Pampers Swaddlers when my kids are in Newborns-1s b/c they're softer than the Luvs, but after that, it's Luvs all the way. Huggies leak on my kids, but I do use Huggies' night time diapers. If you have a really skinny or petite kid, Huggies might work great for you.

I would say neither. I used Huggies in the beginning for the first month or so then decided to try Mamia (the ALDI nappies). If you have an ALDI nearby, I suggest trying them. $16.99 for 50 nappies (for the size my son is currently in), you can't beat that!

Pampers are a lot more absorbent than Huggies in my opinion and they fit better - but overall you will have to try them to decide would be my guess - hope you have luck with whichever way you go!

My advice is "Stick To HUGGIES". I have had endless problems with, believe it or not, leaky nappies. I used to use it when I had my son, but to pick up my baby from a nap and all you feel is wet, just didn't sit well with me. I've been using Huggies for my son (2 years) and I just use it now for my daughter. Pampers Schmampers!!!!!

Pampers have been around for ages as in two decades or so. I am in South Africa and I use them for my baby and I love them - they are fantastic - no nappy rash, they are far less bulky than huggies so clothes also fit better. They are also much softer in terms of overall texture than huggies. I would definitely recommend them.

I have seen them but have the same hesitation as you did, but i have used EVERY brand of nappies except the organic brand, and i have found SORBIES to be the best for my 2 boys, my eldest is now out of them but i have no trouble with leakages for my 10 month old. They have yellow day nappies and purple night nappies. The night nappies hold more wee than the day nappies so theres no chance of night time leaks, and the day nappies dont dont leak or break apart when hes crawling around like most of the other brands do! you get 10 night nappies and 38 day nappies for the toddler bulk nappies! or the smaller packs are 7 night and 25 day, and theyre cheap too! seriously give them a go! Google sorbies and become a member and you can get a free sample so you dont have to waste your money!

Huggies works best for us. They have a special flap that keeps my daughter's poopies from going up her back. She always exploded out of Pampers. Also, Huggies tends to be a lot more absorbent than Pampers. My daughter HATES to be in a wet diaper and doesn't last very long in the Pampers brand. She's 11 mos old and probably goes through 2 diaper changes an hour -- when she's in a Pampers it's even more frequent.

For newborns I like Pampers SWADDLERS, for size 1&2 . Size 3 & up I like Huggies LITTLE MOVERS, which is different from regular huggies Snug & Dry, which I hate. They both make a regular and a premium diaper. They usually cost the same but differ in amount per package & a huge difference in quality. The regular cost more than premium in the end because they're not as absorbant and you end up using MORE of them.

Have tried at least 3/4 other brands of nappies and always go back to Pampers have used them cince my son was borna and he is 10 months now and swear by them will be using them again for my new bor in a month or so rate 10/10 for comfort value drynes anti leak just a really good nappy and nice stretchy sides if you can get the active fit make them a good fit as they grow.

Most people I know prefer Pampers, however I prefer Huggies (the ones in the red box, not in the white one). I found Pampers great during the day, but I found that in the morning, after all night, they would "explode". I have recently tried the walmart brand as well (parent's choice) and I find they are also pretty good (and ten bucks less!). I'm in Canada. . . not sure if you get the same walmart brand everywhere.

i have used pampers and huggies, but i definately prefer huggies. not only have i never had any leakage problems, but the sticky tabs on huggies are alot better than those on pampers. the huggies wipes are also very good. they are the only brand i will use as they are thicker than other brands, so you dont need to use as many.

At first I used Pampers, but as my daughter got older, we prefer Huggies. Especially at night! Pampers seemed to leak during the night and the Huggies Snug and Dry have a catch flap in the back so it catches anything that might go up her back. Life saver :) I can buy a box of 124 for $24. We love them.

Pampers are the best. Huggies feel so stiff, run smaller and don't hold a lot. Anyways sometimes I switch over to Luvs, they are cheaper then Pampers but work just the same.

I prefer Huggies. With the pampers and the Luvs, My oldest daughter had diaper rash all the time. I think it had something to do with whatever they use to give them the baby powder scent. Huggies were the only ones that did not give her diaper rash. I just love the little movers. They seem to hold up really well overnight. Plus they are contoured so they don't bunch as bad in the crotch area.

I used to believe in Pampers (eventhough leakage occurred), but then I went on to nil pay on my maternity leave so had to cut back - I now get my nappies from Lidl (they are called Toujours) and the are so much cheaper and the quality is just as good. I wouldn't go back to Pampers / Huggies again!!!

for the first 3 months the pampers were fine......leading up to the 6 months i guess the biger the diaper the cheaper it is on the quality.....anyways tne dispers started to become loose by the tabs, the elastic in the leg always pops of within minutes of using and i have had leakage. i switched to huggies and the diaper is much of a hevier quality i get no leakage, they hold more and best of all the elastic in the leg never hets undone. i love them. i also love the fact that they have elastic at the top of the diaper at the back. pampers for me was fine in the smaller sizes but my daughter is 40lbs @ 10months and she has a broad behind and the cut of the pampers always had her behind wedge up. i get none of these things with huggies.........i recommend huggies 100%
