Hi,
My 6 month old cut her bottom 2 teeth a week before she turned 6 months and she was just a little more fussing then normal about 2 months before her teeth came through. She didn't get sick at all.

My son cut his first 2 teeth at the same time...it was awful, for both of us. He was miserable, had a fever, not sleeping, crying...and we are going thru it agin with another tooth. From everything I have read, experienced and heard from other mom's each baby is different but it's not uncommon for them to get a fever/cranky and sometimes even sick. My pedi advised me it can be very painful for them to cut teeth...which causes the crankiness/fever/etc. My girlfriend has 2 boys...one didn't show any signs of teething and his first tooth popped out and her youngest went thru all of the uncomfortable symptons.
Good luck to you and your little one

I can't speak for anyone else's baby, but mine did not get sick at all. He cut his first 2 teeth within 3 days of each other. Besides getting quite cranky and a bad rash on his face (from all the drool) there was nothing out of the ordinary. We froze wet facecloths for our son to chew on and we did have to give tylenol twice because he was quite uncomfortable. We also put diaper rash cream on his chin at bedtime to help the rash. I have heard that some babies can run a fever when teething... I'm glad we didn't experience that. Hope this helps.
