My 6 month old is also doing the teething...but luckley no funny acid stool yet! She is just a bit misrable! Just remember to put lots of bumm cream after every change as these teething nappies can do a great deal of harm to the bum area.

I would watch the cough as I know with my first one...a cough was more in the line of toncils. (The first indication of toncils with my Mia was a dry fake like cough!). The best is go with your gutt...it knows best!!!!

I've stocked up on the teethers and they seem to help. I just hope he is not like this for all of his incoming teeth! I put some Orajel on his gums and it seemed to help, too. I will wait until Wednesday and see if he gets better or a tooth comes through.

I think it's teething related. Sean's going through that too. The only reason we took him to the doctor was because his fever got up to 102. Turns out his doctor said not only is he teething, he also has an URI.

The excess drool from teething can cause loose stool and coughing. They also tend to get crankier at night. We were told to give Sean teething tablets, teething rings (or something cold to chew on) and if he really needed it, Tylenol.

If he runs a high fever, gets really congested (where it's hard to breathe) and doesn't clear up after a few days, or you think his ear tugging might be an ear infection (it can also be teething related, but better to be sure) then you'd probably need to take him to the doctor. Just keep an eye on him and when in doubt, take him to his doctor.

My son does that fake coughing thing too & I do it back to him & he laughs, maybe it's just a new sound they discovered. My son already has 2 bottom teeth but I think his big uppers are trying to break thru & his stools have changed a little (maybe because he's drooling more then usual) & also a runny nose but I know w/ my older son he got a runny nose right before a tooth would pop thru. Sounds like Jordan is teething but if you are worried about it I would go into your peditrician...never worry about being "that mom" it's better safe then sorry & that's what the Dr gets paid for!

Does he have a fever or a runny nose? I'd keep checking that and keep a close eye on him. One of my boys has been fake coughing too. He just figured out how to do it so he's doing it all the time! It's so hard to determine what's going on with them! I'd just keep a close watch and if anything gets worse, take him in. There is that bad flu that's going around so you have to be careful but I'd say it sounds like teething if there's not a high fever or runny nose.
