for the last few weeks my baby has been trying to walk. yesterday she took 3 steps while pushing her walker thing in front of her. she holds onto the sides of the lounge and will walk around it. or will walk when holding our hands. my eldest daughter was about 1 year old when she started to walk so this is some what early for us. but my mother says i was walking at this age and my hubby was walking when he was 10 months old.
is anyone else's april baby doing this yet.? she is hard enough to keep track of when she is crawling sl walking is going to be crazy. lol

Good job mommys! My son is slowly trying to walk, he was on his way but we had a set back. However, he's back on the band-wagon and even when he falls and I catch him, he's not scared to try again! PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!! hehehe...

hey!! My daughter is ten months next week. since she was 6 months, she began crawling, pulling her self up.. when she was 8 months, she has taken a few steps all by herself, but then decided to crawl the rest of the way. now she is walking with her walker all around the house. :o) and fast too!

Carson doesn't have the drive to try to crawl. He wants to try to walk everywhere. He just started in his walker about 3 weeks ago and books it around the house. He is just more interested in trying to walk. Last night I noticed as we were walking he tried to let go of my hands. (SCARY!) He also tried to let go of the couch too. It looks like I might have an early walker too. He just turned 9 months on the 30th.

My lil man is doing the exact same thing. He pulls himself up and walks along the couch, and walks behind his walker, and his push along toy. Hes starting to stand by himself now and when he realizes it he sits back down.I cant wait till he can walk, cause he tries to chase his brothers around the house.

My little girl is 10 months old and is walking solo (stopping freq to crawl around and examine things but then gets back up again)

It actually sucks though, no one seems to believe you when you say that.. definatley people with babies around the same age (and yet some of them aint crawling yet)

Every baby is different, some just more devoloped.. but its amazing how quick it goes!

My baby girl was born 4-4-09 and she has been doing that since she was 7mos. Now she takes a few steps by herself and walk to her brother. My son (he's 14) was the first person she walked to. I'm so jealous LOL She still prefers to crawl everywhere but she keeps trying to walk everyday. :) it's so cute!

Two of mine walked at ten months and 1 walked at 13 months . 1 of them always crawled backwards and then 1 day stook up and walked just like that. Good luck .Mary

My daughter Mya is also bursting to walk! She has been pulling up on the furniture for a few months now and will walk quite happily (and proudly with a great big smile on her face) across the room with her walk, infact anything she can get a hold of!! She is also a bit eager to climb up on things, she climbed up on her sisters chair the other day and just looked at me with a big smile as if to say "HI mummy, look what i can do!!!" i almost fell over running to get her down! She doesnt like to be caried so much anymore as she has been crawling for quite some time now, so she is a little wriggle bum! I think i am heading for some crazy times ahead when she does finally start to walk on her own! My oldest daughter walked at 10 1/2 months so i am thinking maybe Mya will be the same. Like many people have said all babies are different and will walk when they want to. Just enjoy some relaxing time before they do and after enjoy it even more. have fun!!

Cordy has been walking on her own for about 2 weeks now. She can easily make it across a room before she falls on her bottom. When I hold onto her fingers she tries to run so I know she is going to be a mover. I am going to be in trouble! :)

My son has been doing this for the last two months. He is almost ready to take his first unassisted steps I think. I have the hardest time trying to keep track of him now. I can't imagin trying to keep track of him once he does start walking. I am lucky that I have so much family around to help right now. I haven't been incouraging him just cause I'm not ready. Unfourtunatly the rest of my family is. He has this Pooh Bear toy that isn't really a walker but it has wheels and he took it the other day and pushed it clear across his and his brothers bedroom and almost out the door. It was cute but like I said I'm not ready.

My daughter has been walking holding onto things for several weeks. My boys didn't do that until they were almost 12 months. She has done everything about 3 months earlier than my boys. She claps and she rolled over and crawled early.

My daughter is doing the same thing. She walks up and down the hallway with her push toy and around all the furniture. I've heard that girls usually walk faster then boys, silly boys! We have a friend who's daughter is a month older and she is walking solo! She is walking everywhere so look out, it won't be long!

My Mekkailah is also walking while pushing things around, she's been doing this since she was 7 months! Not getting much time to myself now that she is so mobile, but it is very exciting! Yesterday she took her first steps and for me that means steps toward independence, which, is sad, scary and exciting at the same time :) Congrats moms, we've almost made it a year!!

My 9 month old was holding on to furniture and other things when he was 8 months old. Now he is pushing his walker around or I should say he runs with it and he will hold on to your fingers and walk. He stands by himself for a short period. Not going to be much longer!

My little girl took her first steps on Dec 31 and is now walking fully unassisted. She is now very sure of herself and walks more then she crawls! she is always trying to reach up and grap stuff and is getting very fast on her feet which can be more difficult to watch her lol.

I miss the days when we would just seat him in his bouncer and he would lie there :))) Good luck to us all when they do start walking :))))))

my daughter was born on April 1st and has been pushing a large pampers box (we keep her small toys in) all over the living room floor since she was 9 months old. Mind you she falls every once in awhile but we just pick her up, sit her down and she's at that box again. I have a friend that her daughter was born the year before in April and she started walking at 8 months old. it was too cute to see. My son started the day after his 1st birthday. all kids are different, they do say the younger they start walking the more falls they take??? Don't know if thats true or not, I just find they fall no matter what age. LOL

My daughter has been cruising for about 2 months now. She can stand independently and has taken as many as nine steps at once. It is so scary! How old was your baby when she started to crawl? My daughter was 5 and a half months. Is an early crawler an indication of an early walker?

It's an amazing milestone for sure! I guess we all have to remember that all babies have different personalities and try things at their own pace. One experienced mother once told me, "I have three children....two are lawyers and the oldest is a waitress. The lawyers walked after 12 months and the waitress walked at 7 months." I guess these milestones aren't really predictors of our children's future but they sure are exciting to us now:) Enjoy this time!

my three oldest walked at 10 months and my 9 month old tied to take a few steps today not holding on to anything. So I guess it just depends on how much she wants to do it. My daughter wants to so she can chase after her siblings

Yeah my little girl turned 9mths old today and has been cruising around on the furniture and walking behind her doll's pram for months now. I actually thought she would be walking by now, should'nt be long as she can stand on her own for a few seconds and has also taken a few steps when I let go of her hand. Seems that our little baby's arnt staying baby's for very long : (

My little one has been cruising the furniture for over a month, walks with the push toy, and attempts to stand without holding on for several seconds. It's scary that he might be walking soon. Chasing him around on his hands and knees is hard enough.

One of my twin boys LOVES to stand up on his own and take steps while holding my hands....he crawls as well but not as good as his brother, he would just prefer to be standing all the time! My other son is a proffessional crawler and hard to keep up with!! He is slowly learning how to pull himself up and still a little wobbly but I am sure I am going to have at least one early walker! Good luck
