Hi
My Name is Natalie, and i'm a first time mom. I had my little angel in April 2009. He's the light of my life. Sometimes i feel guilty for having to leave him for 12 hours while i'm at work. I would like to stay at home and look after Jordan day and night, but currently that's just a dream! Sadly, moms also need to work. So, is it okay for me to feel this way?

Im returning to work next week I don't feel guilty 'cause daddy is gonna stay at home with our son. But still it feels bad to be away from my son :( But I'm gonna leave to work 6.15 and be home mo, tu, fri at 3pm we at 3.30pm and thu 3.15pm and our son wakes up between 8-10 eats plays eats again takes naps and I'll be home when he wakes from naps :)

You obviously love your child and truly care for him. The feelings of guilt are proof of that. As long as you are leaving him in a caring enviroment and spending time with him in your off time, then you are doing all you can do.

i'm in the same boat as u. Financially I have to return back to work. My mother had to when I was born and I survived. I think we have to soldier on and when we do get to spend time with our precious babies, we should value every minute of it. It certainly makes me appreciate the time I have with my baby.

yes, I too am a first time mom and felt like that after getting home from work and I only worked 8 hours. I think most mothers feel like that when they are 1st mothers. I have friend and felt the same way, but apparently it goes away or you get use to it. I was fortunate enough though to return to school and when I'm not in class my baby boy is with me!! YAY for that!!

when i started going back to school id call every chance i had to check on my daughter. its fine to feel that way. i still have points where i text her aunt 5 times in an hour to check on her.
