My husband has all our kids names on him. He is still in the process of getting our daughters name completed. He got her name Scarlett done in red writing with a Ivy vine wrapping around the name and his forearm, as Ivy is her middle name. It looks great.

I have a 32week old son and i got his name tattooed on my foot when he was about 15 weeks old. I dont see the big huff about women getting tattoos. I say if you think you want one, you should get one. Its your choice. And i think your idea is really cute too!

Just an idea.. I had a friend who got a tattoo of a butterfly on the back of her neck and the body was actually her sons name. It was such a cute idea! I can't wait to get one.. I'm not sure what I'd get yet.. but I'm patiently waiting until we are done nursing.. Good luck! Post a picture of whatever you get done!

I have 2 sons and their actual baby feet straight off the baby book at the hospital along with their names and birth date are tattooed on my back (shoulder blades) and my husbands forearms. We both absolutly love them and will NEVER regret them. In my opinion something to do with your kids is the best thing you could ever get a tattoo of!

i have my daughter's name, chloe, on the inside of my wrist. with a little star above it. i think its perfectly fine to have it done. what ever you like is up to you. you're the one who has to live with it. so make sure you like it. personally i think it sounds nice.

I have a butterfly on the front of my hip with my two older kids initials as the design of each wing (vein things). I have had it for two years and am trying to think of what to do with my third 'surprise' baby's initials! I love mine and i wouldn't even say im the type of person to normally get one. :-)

Hi, i think that it's nice to have a tattoo that represents your children i still havent decided on what to get that will represent my kids, however not to put you off or anything but with getting a butterfly it means short life. You may not be the superstious type and thats cool, but my mum had a butterfly tattoo and died at 46. I'm sure that whatever you choose you will be happy with it.

If I were ever to get a tattoo, it would probably be my daughter's name. The biggest problem with tattoos is regret, but I can't imagine regretting that. My husband has her footprint and name tattooed on him.

I am currently looking at getting my sons footprint with birth info and name tattooed on the top of my foot. I don't think there is anything wrong with placing your child(rens) name(s) on you as they will always be there and they will always be your child(ren). My husband also wants our sons footprint on him along with his other two children.

I think it's a neat idea! I want to get one on my back that has the japanese symbol for "love" and cherry blossoms...and then hidden in the branches of the cherry blossoms I want to put my daughters birthday...my wedding anniversary..and a bible verse that is special to my husband and I...and then I want to leave room to add more birthdays as I have more children....I just have to come up with the money and the courage :)

I would love to get one. I have twin girls and really want their names somewhere. I already have 2 tattoos, but they are hidden as I only wanted them for me, but I wanted my girls names tattooed on my inner wrist, but don't want to regret it when I'm older. With my 2 existing tattoos I can cover them up, but if I get these on my wrists I won't be able too, but I want them somewhere I can look at them everyday. I think they are really nice if they are done with taste.

One of my tattoos is written in Kanji writing and means Happiness and is on the back of my neck. I was also thinking about getting their names underneath that as they are my happiness, but I just don't know.

i was training to be a tattoo artist before my husband joined the army and we had to move and then things with it kind of fell through, then i got pregnant with my daughter, which i love being a mom more than i loved tattooing, so anyway i love tattoos and ever since i found out that i was pregnant i have been trying to figure out what i want to do for her, i designed a tattoo for my mother that has a wolf which is like her totem animal with a full moon behind it and three feathers hanging from its neck for the three of us each with the color of our birthstone. for my daughter i have been thinking about a sparrow on the front of my shoulder (by my collarbone) with a banner in its mouth with her name on it. the sparrow to always remind me to let her live her own life, and to let her be free when she is ready.

Definately! My Daughter's called Ashleigh and my partner has some Ash tree leaves around a letter A on his wrist. Im having done a Vine on my wrist with a letter A, Ash leaf, a 7 and a daisy hanging off it. Daisy is her birth flower and she was born on the 7th. There are SO many things you could do. But I would definately say get one if you really want one. Just make sure its something you LOVE as its always there. I have 2 tattoo's and it took me months to make sure they were the ones I wanted. Hope I helped?

I have 3 boys and i am going to get something with their names on me. Just depends where u put it and what u get. What ur husband is getting would be fine, but for a woman not so much. Ur idea is really cute.

Why wouldn't it be fine for a woman to get one on her forearm?

I think that sounds very pretty, I like tattoos so absolutly I think it is a great Idea, your child is hopefully going to be with you for as long as you live, shes a part of you and for you and your hubby to get her name is a great idea. I have a tattoo that I got before I got pregnant, I said I wasnt going to have kids so I got it on my stomach, two birds, how fitting cause when I did get pregnant I had twins, I'm going to put there names in it for sure, it was like a sighn or something. lol Your idea sound beautiful and original I think it would look great.

I am not a tatoo person but my husband is. I think that if it something you want then you should do it and if your not to keen but your partner is then let him do it and you don't. That way if later you decide you really want it you can still get it done.

i have my sons name tattooed on my back with his foot prints in the middle and a crown above it because the first thing I said to him was "there's mommy's little prince" I absolutely love it! i was going to get his birthdate, but i was told that if you do that, people may think it's a memorial tribute instead of a celebration of his birth. i just decided to completely leave it out, and I love it just the way it is! I think it's classy and says I AM A VERY PROUD MOMMY!
