Ok so Tori my 3 month old isn't getting full. She is already on Nutramigen Lipil Formula. The doc put her on rice cereal through her bottle at 1 month old and I started her on jarred baby food about 3 weeks ago.The jarred food did the trick for the first 2 weeks but now she isnt getting full. She takes 6oz of formula every 2 hours if not sooner. She shouldn't be drinking that much formula! She will eat 2 jars of baby food a day and a bottle of cereal every night.Sometimes I even mix the veggies or fruit with her cereal and formula. What should I do? She already weighs 11lbs 7 1/2oz as of last week.Everyone that I've talked to says to contact her doctor but the problem with that is shes in between doctors so neither doctor will give me information on what to do.She cant keep going through ALL of her WIC formula in 3 weeks! My grandma suggested that I try giving her a bottle of 2% milk but my aunt who is an RN suggested against it because lack of vitamins & iron.HELP!!!

my baby is 3 months too and has been eating cereal since 4 weeks and baby food since 6 weeks. he rarely drinks a milk bottle any more at all. too make sure he's getting the nutrients he needs i make sure to mix the milk powder into his cereal and baby food. she isn't going to over eat...most little baby's don't. my doctor said to simply feed my son as much as it took to get him full. baby's tend to hit a growth spurt around 3 months also, so this may have something to do with it.

Omg my son will be 3 months on Nov 15th when he was born he was 9lbs and 13 oz and I had him vaginally... As of Oct 23rd he weighed 16.6 and as of this past week he's gotten constipated 3 times but I've had him on Gerber gentle since 4 weeks old and he's done jus fine but like I said this last week he's constipated but here's the thing he started eating like a beast and I don't think as much as he's eating I don't think its digesting the way it should since he's been on it for awhile so here my question what do u do when he's not getting fulfilled and he's only 3 months... They told me not rice cereal but he's eating constantly and they said he's borderline of jus being to big.... I feel bad cuz I'm feeding him what he wants but I do feel like the amount is constipating him but also feel like he's not getting what he needs....so very confused and seriously my pedi sux they never call me back ever!!! And some things they say don't make sense and when I ask questions its like they repeat what they say like I didn't hear them the first time.....every time I ask them something its always the formula like it can't be anything else but like I said if he's been fine on I until now what to do??...

mmy daughter is 3 1/2 months and is 12 1/2 lbs. dont worry about that my girl use to make her babies smoothies. juice, cereal and baby food (fruit) and 2 oz of formula sounds gross but i tried it cause my daughter was never satisfied and she loves it and it fills her up

i figured that she was going to need cereal. i know my doc put us on cereal
pretty early. i don't think that you can start feeding them too early...if they're
hungry feed em :)

Hey everyone! Thank you for all the advice.I didnt put her on Cows milk so dont worry I do know that its not good for them.Remember I do have one lil girl of my own and shes very healthy.I was advised by the Caresource 24 to take her to the hospital due to the fact that she doesnt have a doctor at this time since she is in the process of being switched to a different doctor. So I did and the doc put her back on Isomil Advance and she is doing great!! He also advised me to put 1 Tablespoon of rice cereal in EVERY bottle. So now instead of eating every 2 hours shes eating about every 4 1/2 to 5 hours.Thanx again guys!

My son drinks 3oz of breastmilk every two hours and he's always satisfied! How do you know she's not full? A lot of babies just want to suckle for a while - she may not need to eat more - she may just need to suck on a pacifier for a while.

I've heard you're never suppose to mix rice cereal in their bottle. It doesn't make them any fuller. you can try giving your baby rice cereal after her bottle if she's still hungry. The best thing to do is up her ounces. If that doesn't work try the cereal on its own.

You should either contact WIC or call the doctor and tell them. My daughter was drinking 6oz her first week home, and the doctor said it was too much. So I dropped it down to 4oz. Don't give her 2% milk, it can cause an allergy. It might be the formula you are using, WIC will change the formula for you. They did that for me. Now the formula I use ENFAMIL GENTLEASE is so much better it is a milk based with Iron. GOOD LUCK

My daughter is 10 weeks and 18.5 pds....so, 11pds is not that heavy(unless your baby was a preemie) I have just started her on pablum as well due to the fact that she eats 8 ozs every 2 -2.5hrs. My pediatrician was dead set against it however he told me that shes my baby and I'm going to do as I wont anyways...please do everything you want but cows milk!! Such a mistake!!!

No cows milk. Everything I have read suggests against it for the first year.

I would look into getting a second opinion from another pediatrician too. 4 weeks is REALLY early for cereal and even 3 months for solids - at least that is what I know from readings from the American Academy of Pediatrics. Not that your pedi is suggesting something they shouldn't - but I do believe it is unconventional. I can't help but wonder if introducing cereal and solids so early might be messing with her ability to recognize fullness.

Don't beat yourself up, stress and lack of sleep makes us all fuzzy headed. lol Would love to know what the professionals advise though. I haven't encountered this type of thing with any of my kids yet.

Sorry to not add value here Jennifer, but I agree with Angela. No point second guessing in this situation, I would be seeking out sound medical advice.

I would maybe call the dial a nurse about this. Or just take her to the doctor and they have to give you info on her.
