I have the same problem with my son. He still wears 18 month pants and most of them are a little big. He can where 18 m. and some 24 m. shirts but again they are a little big. My guy has always been in the lower percentage for his weight and my pediatrician said he is just going to be a small guy. I wouldn't worry to much about it. Every kid is different and I just figure at some point he will grow into the clothes for his age.

as long as he is healthy , my youngest at 5and a half was in size 2 so i had to get all his school clothes made for him

This has always drove me nuts about the size of clothes. I learned how to give up on it. I quit worrying about the size of stuff...and just worry about if it fits and if it has growing room in it.
My boy is 2years, two days. He weighs 32 lbs and is 3 foot tall. He wears a lot of 3T stuff...and some of it is 4T. There are a few pairs of shorts/pants that are 12mos...18mos..24mos...that still fit him. He did just potty train, so he can wear some of the pants again now that he doesn't have the bulk of the diaper on his bottom.
I really lucked out when my best friend wouldn't let me give away the last sets of clothes he outgrew. Now that he's out of the diaper they fit again and I can get a little more use out of them.

I have the same issues with pants.. My guy fits in 12 month jeans in the waste but he is to tall for them.. He is built like a football player with broad shoulders so he wears bigger tops...So it doesn't necessarily is the size but the build of your child...

My son wears 2t tops and 18 month bottoms...My son was 27lbs (40%) and 33 1/2 inches tall (25%)
I think all children are different. As long as your Doctor is happy with his growth and development is all that really matters!!!

My son turned two in April. He is in 3T shirts and 2T pants, but he has been over the 97th percentile in height for over a year. As long as your son is meeting his milestones I would not worry. If it continues to be a concern, talk with the Dr. at your next visit. :)

my son is in 3t but hes a bigggg boy. its normal. all kids grow at their own pace. my friends son is almost 3 and hes still in 18 month clothes. it all depends on the child honestly.

It depends on the child AND the maker of the clothes. There is no "should" when it comes to what size a child should be wearing. My daughter was always wearing smaller sizes but she recently went through this spurt. She now wears 24 months and is 2. She can get in some 18 month clothing but not much. She's in the 50th percentile for height and weight like she's always been.

Yea I get to the point I don't pay attention cause like in diapers they tell you the weight I don't go by the weight my son is 27 pounds & he wears size 3 diapers...He can wear 12 months in shorts also & 12 Month shirts but 18 Months pants if the pants are over 18 months there to big...The size of stuff drive me crazy in pants it's more in the length cause 12 month pants will fit him around the waist but there to short...My son is 34 inches long

Depends on the child. My eldest was always a sz behind and my youngest is always a sz ahead.

my daughter turned 2 on the 15th and she wears 3T shirts and 2T pants...but it also depends on the brand because she can still wear some 18-24 months in certain brands.

It depends on the child. My son was a big baby and he is big for his age but my nephew who is 11 days older than my son can still where 12 and some 18 month pants (he is a bean). As long as they are reaching this developmental milestones I wouldn't worry about what size the clothes they are wearing.
