My daughter is 8 months and just started Momma and Dadda last week. She can sit if I sit her there but it doesn't last long and she falls over. Not crawling yet either but she does a night little belly slide to get where she needs to be. She also does a really nice push up.

yes, my daughter is sitting up on her own, crawling everywhere and even pulling herself up to stand. I can't believe how fast she is learning all of this because my first daughter didn't start all this until about her 9th and 10th month. I guess they all learn at a different pace.

my daughter is 7 months and yet falls over after sitting up for a minute when she grabs on something on the floor unless i get her attention. she says dadadada a lot and mamamama sometimes..every baby is different. so nothing to worry about.

My son started sitting up at 4 months without any help, and started repeating "hi dad" at 6 months and saying "ma" and "mama" at 7months.He is also crawling n standing up. sometimes he thinkis he is holding on to us but he is standing on his own. But not all children are the same.

Karter is 8 months he sits up, crawls, stands up and walks on furniture, can get herself off the couch(inching off backwards), she says mom, dada, bye, na-na(soother, don't kow how she named it that)num-num(food), no, go. She is curious about everything, puts everything in her mouth. It is going by so fast i can hardly keep up. I know all kids are different and will do things on thier own time so i guess you really can't compare too much.

My daughter can sit up, crawl, roll, and pull herself to a stand and shes 7 months old ! (: she didnt start crawling until she was 6 months old, shes been sitting up since she was 3 months old ! But she doesnt say words yet ! (:

all babies develop at different rates, so i wouldnt worry. my daughter was saying da da at four monts and ma ma at six months, she sat up at five months and started crawling at seven months old. now she is pulling herself up to stand at every surface possible and she is difficult to keep up with! Im sure he will be doing all of that very soon, but in the meantime, enjoy your little man!

Jade is nearly 7 months, and says dadda, brubba (we think she is trying to say brother, because its always when my 3 yr old is around that she says it), nan, no, bye bye and mumma (but only when shes upset or tired). Jade has a bigger vocabulary than my 3 yr old did at this age, but i believe that is because she is spending so much time with her brother that she absorbs it. She is able to sit alone for short periods of time, and is extremely close to crawling.



Honestly, all children are different and develop at different paces. At this age, I wouldnt be too concerned, as long as Sean is working towards achieving his milestones, then it should be alright. But if you are concerned or after reassurance, then pop into your local midwife clinic or GP.

his stomach mussels might not be strong enough yet he may just need more tummy time my little boy didnt start to do anything or say any words till 7mts but within a week after he was 7 months he was crawling sitting up and creaping around the furnature then he started saying mama all the time now and now at 8 mts he is crawling up the stairs just give him some more time. but when he does start watch out cuz he will be everywhere

My son is now 7 months old and is climbing on and over things and now is trying to walk. My son has been sitting by himself since he was 3.5 months and said MAMA at 4.5 months. Wont say dada yet though. Every kids is different. If th doc isn't worried then don't worry.

I think all kids work at their own pace...

My son started sitting up at 5 & a half months & saying words at the same age. But I have an at-home nurse who comes to evaluate him & let me know if he's doing things on time & she told me most kids sit up by 7 months & start saying words between 7 & 9 months. So I wouldn't be concerned. He's probably more interested in doing something else!!

Rexina, my baby was started sitted about 3 weeks ago and now she going to sitting properly. She said mama couple times, i know she didnt meant that yet.

My daughter is 7 months and she has been sitting up since 5 months. She is not talking yet. And she seems to be "skipping" crawling because all she wants to do is pull herself up. Sorry I couldn't be more help to you. But im sure when he is good and ready he will sit up. I know that with kids "no two kids are the same" espically when it comes to development.

Leah is 7 months and she's been sitting up for about a month now without falling - but she is still not able to roll or crawl as she cries when she is on her tummy for too long. She is been saying dadada, bababa for about a month now but no signs of mama... she wave goodbye and just learned to clap her hands!

My son is 7months and he does sit on his own going to be crawling anyday.. All babies are different though my son hasnt gotten his teeth yet as alot of babies have. He does say baba papa and mama but I dont think he knows really what hes saying he just hears all of us saying it so he tends to repeat it.

My son is almost 7 months old and he is yet to speak. He sits up until he looks around and then tips over. He doesn't have the head/body ballance down yet. But he is babbling uncontrollably. I just keep hoping each day he will spit it out. :) :)

My almost 7 month old is now sitting up on his own and "scooting" on the floor. He can sit there sometimes and go da da da da da da da for a while and will sometimes throw in a ma ma ma or a na na na, but he doesn't do it regularly.

dont feel bad hunny hannah says ha really loud but no mommy or daddy or anything and she does sit up a lil bit but i have to watch her she will fall over. you just have to sit on the floor with her for about an hour a day thats what i have been doing.

My Addisyn can say ma ma, na na, and da da. She has been sitting up for almost a month now. She can sit for 10-15 minutes at a time. She also cut her first tooth this weekend. she will be 7 months on the 30th.

My son born 4/11 has been saying mama for about 6 weeks now and started saying dada about 3 weeks ago. It started out he would cry and say mama but now he just says it. He has no idea that mama and dada are connected with people though.

Jakob has been saying mom since 41/2 months and dad since 5 51/2. Jakob can sit up forever! What i did was spread his legs far apart for the balance and put a toy with him. HE got more stable everyday!

My baby is like veronica's....she is 7 months old and has been crawling since 5 months but lacks a lot with her talking. She pants with her mouth open when she's excited but it's like she doesnt want to or can't say anything. Every once in a while she will have days where all she does is make noises but it's more of just growls and yah yah yah's. Im not worried, i have lots of friends whose kids don't STOP talking, so I hope mine will just be quiet and talk in her own time!

My son Zakary, is 7 mos. old today. He refuses to sit up alone, Ive been concerned...after doctor seemed worried that his development in that area was behind, blaming it on him being a preemie. Also because, I had introduced him to a johnny jumpup, which promoted him standing versus developing his back muscles to sit up alone. They had me discontinue that device, and even with the exercises that they gave me, he still resists unassisted sitting. I even bought the seat that is supposed to encourage the sitting stance. As for talking, we swear that in the mornings, he says "HI" to everyone.....

My daughter just turned 7 months yesterday. All babies are so different, and some parents compare far too often. I'm already forgetting when she started rolling over, but it was somewhere in her second month. She was sitting up unassisted by 5 months, was able to pull herself up to a sitting position by 6 months, and started crawling at 6.5 months (which is early). She is now cruising around the couch, but only if I motivate her with certain toys. She can pull up to a stand on her own and is slowly learning how to stoop down for toys while standing. She says Momma and knows that I am Momma. If she is with my husband and I'm out of sight, she doesn't say my name. However, if she hears my voice, she will crawl towards me saying "Momma, Momma!"

Don't worry if your baby doesn't do some of these things at this stage. In five years from now, you won't be able to tell who crawled first and who walked first. Just have fun and enjoy this precious time.

my daughter is 7 months old and has been crawling since she was 6 months. she goes from crawling to sitting when she finds something interesting enough, and is now pulling to standing and cruising...she has been pretty advanced with her motor skills, but her verbal lags; she just yesterday started babbling consonants! i also stay at home with her (i only work 2 days a week) and swear that that makes a huge difference in her strength. but as a nurse i agree that every single baby has his or her own strengths and skills and there is no "right" or "wrong"! just LOVE your baby!

my 7 month old always says dadadadadadadadada when she wants her dads attention and has said a hmmmmmmmmmm sound when looking at me. i wasn't sure if she knows to try and say it or if it's just the first sounds they make. but hab=ving a sister who is constantly saying mum or dad it would be easy to pick up on lol.

My daughter is 7months nowand began sitting up with cushions around her in case she toppled from 5.5 months, she no longer needs the cushions! She says ma ma all the time but to be honest i dont think she's saying it because she wants me or knows that thats who i am i just think its a coincidence that she's learned how to make those sounds and enjoys repeating them!

My daughter is 6 1/2 months and she can sit up for a couple minutes but eventually will fall over when she goes to grab something else that has her attention. And she only says mama when she cries or is tired.

all babies are different, violets been rolling over since 3 months, sitting up since 4 1/2- 5 months shes been saying mama and baba (byebye) for like a month and a half dada for a monthshes been wriggling forward for 2 weeks or so and now is crawling and just sat up by her self tonite. but i know lots of babies who do things faster and slower than her, and their first word is going to be what they hear most and if that is hard for them to say like a name or grandma then itll take em longer. i stay at home with vi and i think that has alot to do with it because im here to encourage and teach her 24/7 where if u gotta split the day with someone they dont know what uve been doing and vice versa.

My daughter said Mama when she was born - no lie :o) She says mama and dada now, and I think she's finally figuring out who is who (she is almost 7 months). Started sitting up unassisted a few weeks ago. I used a bumbo chair to help her establish better trunk strength; I picked one up at Once Upon A Child for around $20....
