I moved my bub into her own cot and own room when she was about 10 weeks old.. She grew out of her basinet too fast.. It actually worked better for me to get her in her routine..

My little Ella has slept with me since she was a month old.



After five weeks of no sleep I brought her into my bed. And now I can't imagine it any other way. Waking up every morning to her beautiful smile starts my day in just the most perfect way.



At this point, I don't even think she cares, as she has slept in her crib from time to time. But not only are we in better moods when we share a bed, but it forces me to sleep rather than fuss about the house.

my daughter is 2 1/2 she still sleeps wiv us has done since she was 6 months old i love it cuddling wiv my baby is the best thing she sleeps better i sleep better. At the end of the day its up to the parents wot they want dont worry bout wot any one else thinks.

I may not follow all the right guidelines but i know im a good parent my kids are happy beautiful intellegent little girls and no matter where we go every one says wot a credit they r to us this is the is the best complement any one could give me and my partner.

My son is 5 months old and he sleeps with me every night but his daddy gets kicked out because his a crazy sleeper and i don't want him to roll on our son..sooo i put emery our son is his crib during his day naps but i sleep with him during the night, i think the reason why is my son was colic for the first 5 weeks and so when he sleeps beside me i could get him to sleep easier and he would sleep longer, i know i have to get him to sleep on his own soon because he is rolling over and he will be 6 months on about 2.5 weeks..this is my first child and i tell ya i absolutely love being a mother...yaa go moms!!!

no both of my children sleep in their own rooms. Like Stephanie it just is not comfortable having them in our room or bed.

My little guy sleeps in his crib and has since the day we brought him home. I thought it was much easier to start him there rather than fight later on to get him in there. He actually likes his crib, i have toys, a mobile and very cuddly blankets. He sometimes wakes up in the morning, cooing and laughing and doesn't seem to want to leave it!

my son has slept in his crib since the day we brought him home. i think you just have to be consistent with where you want them to sleep and they will get used to it. it just takes time =)

My 5 month old sleeps on the couch, because we live in a two bedroom apartment and he doesn't have his own room like his big sister. He can't sleep in there while we are sleeping in the same room because we wake him up constantly so he sleeps on the couch. My daughter on the other hand has had no problem sleeping in her own room and even sleeps in a twin sized bed with no rails and she is not even two.

Yes Jacqueline my 5month old baby still sleep's in my bed with me beacause her bedroom is not finished yet still have the painting to do because i have just moved in to a 2bedroom house and it is hard doing it all one my own but it will be done before christmas i hope. X

Yes our baby sleep with us in our bed. I have 2 . babies from 2yrs. and 4 mos.and the youngest is 5 mos.even they have their own bed , my hubby bring my little boy first in his bed 'till he sleep but at the middle of the night his awake and walk to our room and sleep with us, and m little girl akso sleep with us since i breastfeed her i put back to her bed she doesnt have a good sleep i mean she can't sleep straight 'till morning but if she sleep with us she has a good sleep os i prefer she sleep with us so that i will not bother also.

hey there. my son kyarn is 5months and still sleeps in our room. he sleeps in his cot but we cant seem to move him into his own room! im not ready lol. he has the occasional sleep in our bed usually when hes teething! our 6year old was always sneaking back into our bed at night though. some babies just like being near mum & dad i reckon!

when my daughter was born, we got her home and put her in the crib and she didn't like it because it was too big, so she slept in the vibrating chair we got her, then she got older and now sleeps in her crib, except nap time she sleeps on my bed with pillows around her.

My little guy slept in a bassinet in my room until he was 7 weeks old, and then moved to his crib, with the monitor on. I read the book Lull-a-baby sleep plan, and he sleeps from 10 at night to 8am no interruptions. He's now 5 months old. Good Luck!

My bub slept in a bassinette in our room until a couple of weeks ago but now sleeps in his cot in his own room. I just put him in there when he was napping during the day so that he'd get used to waking up in there.

But keep in mind that Travis doesn't link sleeping in his own crib as a bad thing just because his brother does. By holding back on putting him in his crib he may begin to think it's a bad because of your own reaction to the idea. Try to be positive and show him that sleeping in his own bed is a good thing. Little ones are very perceptive and will watch what you do and react to copy your behaviour. If you show that you're anxious or worried about it he may assume that it's how he's supposed to react too.

Be strong, smile when you take him in there and try not to be tense and you may be suprised :)

My first child slept with her father and myself. It was very hard to get her to sleep in her own bed, and now as a side effect she is not a good sleeper has a very hard time falling asleep at night. So since then I have made my other to child sleep in there own bed from the start.

I have a 21/2 yr old and a 5 month old.. The eldest was in a basinette in our room until 3 months old and then he went into his own room into his cot (as he had outgrown basinette) Then when we were pregnant with 2nd baby we purchased a single bed and new bedroom suite and our then 24 month old moved into the big bed and new bedroom...so he was used to that before new baby come along... My 5 month old has been in a basinette in our room until today! LOL - he is now in his cot in his own room... I would have put him in there sooner but we had no window furnishings up at his window.. I have never slept with them as babies.. our toddler now comes through in the morning and hopes in bed with us.. but if he comes in the middle of the night- we take him back to bed so he doesn't get used to coming in our bed.

My baby sleep in his own cot in our room since he was born. He did slept once in his own room in another cot without any problem. Your child need sleep. Do whatever you feel is right for him. Good Luck.

My daughter slept in a bassinet in our room for the first month, and then we started putting her in her crib in her own room alone. The first two weeks were the hardest for her but eventually she got used to it and now she always sleeps in her own room and has been sleeping 10-12 hrs per night in her room since she was about 3 months old.

Cameron slept in our room in a bassinet for the first 4 months, then moved into his own room, in his crib. There's a single bed in his room too, so after his first feeding, we lay down in that bed to nap for a couple hours. I don't sleep that well when he's with me, because I'm so paranoid that he'll roll away, or I'll roll on him, or the blanket/pillow will cover his face, (none of which has happened, but still..) he sleeps great with me, and by himself though. Through the day he'll nap in his crib, or rocking chair, or just on the bed between his dad and me (he loves to be able to touch us both).

my oldest daughter slept with me until she was 15 months old! i regret it sevearly! until she was 3 i had to sit in her room for hours until she fell asleep! now with my second i pushed for her to sleep in her bassinet and she did! then i was worried about her sleeping in her bed in a room by herself but i put a baby monitor up and shes been in there for a month now and she is fine and i no longer have any worries about it!! the longer you let your kids sleep with you the longer it will take when you are ready for them to be in their own bed!

My first daughter Jessica slept in her own room in her own cot from the day we brought her home from hospital 19 months ago. We have our 2nd daughter in our room but in her own cot. At first we were going to have her rooming in with her older sister but the arrival of Mia shocked her alot and she found it really difficult to adjust so we had Mia in a bassinet in our room ( we didn't want Mia to intrude on her space at this stage we thought we would let her get used to having a sister before we invaded her turf). Then after a month we thought we would bring her cot into our room, so she is still in our room at 4 1/2 months. Jessica has been asking for Mia to come and sleep in her room so next week we will move the cot back to it's original spot. Fingers crossed lol

My one and only baby girl only slept in our room the first night! Then she was in a bassinet for 2 months then a cot in her own room. She is a really noisey sleeper so neither of us were getting any sleep when she was in our room! she is one independent girl though :-)

My baby has slept in his own cot in his own room since he was 2 weeks old. We tried to get him to sleep in his moses basket in our room at first but he didn't seem to like it. As soon as he was in his own cot, he began sleeping longer and began sleeping 12+ hours a night from 12 weeks.

My baby sleeps in my bedroom in his bassinet, and my 4yo daughter sleeps in her room! My husband made a deal with me that I would have another baby, and he would build him a room (addition to our house)..... had my wonderful baby.... but he still doesn't have his own room! =)

My twins sleep in their cribs. They use to sleep together but I had to seperate them when they started rolling over. They love their cribs. They sleep almost all night in them.

My 3rd baby sleeps in his bed. I have a single bed in there also for me because he has bad reflux. He was almost put on an apnea monitor because he was turing blue. I can't sleep with him by me in the same bed.

My 2nd baby never liked sleeping in my bed. He slept great in his crib.

My 1st baby slept with us till he was 2. It was very hard getting him in his own bed. Still to this day he loves sleeping with mom or dad or brother. He is a crazy sleeper and would have to be touching both me and dad to sleep.

Every kid is different and you have to do what is best for you and the child.

My husband and I have had our son in his own bed since the day he was born! For the first 2 weeks Micah slept in his playpen in our room, after that he went into his crib. We found that no one (us or our son) slept as well when we all slept in the same room or bed. During the day our son will sleep either in his crib or in his swing. But, everyone is different and what works for some won't work for others.
