We are doing a ladybug theme for my daughters 1st. I also go tthe cutest little outfit for her to wear. I am actually only spending about $200.00 on supplies. But, I made everything from scratch. The invitations, pineta, the party hats (antena)...its going to be great....I can't wait!!!
Well planning a 1st birthday party is always full of excitement for parents because they really wish to make it different and memorable for all, so that they can keep the beautiful moments of their darling forever and can show them the photos when their kids grow up . Choosing the best theme for this party is something that often confuses them. I would suggest a Princess Themed Birthday party, Pooh Theme birthday party, Toy themed Birthday party, Disney Characters Themed Birthday party, etc. will be perfect for little ones, as these themes are very simple to plan.

We are doing a vintage sock monkey theme for my son's first birthday next month. He's my 2nd child and I've gone over-board on ideas and everything else for his upcoming party...heehee!!! I ordered him a sock monkey shortalls, matching bib with his name monogrammed on it, birthday hat, customized invitations plus water bottle labels, cupcake toppers, food/cupcake place cards, sock monkey two-pieced outfit-all from www.etsy.com, had his bday pics done for his invitations, decors, smash cake and cupcakes. My daughter, Maddie is 4 1/2 years old and she's really excited about helping me plan it. We are having it here at our home and doing a come and go party since we have so many close friends and families...it's going to be a full-house so am hoping for decent weather for others to be out as well. So having that many people, we'll serve BBQ chicken-pork on party buns and sides. Of course, my son eats anything so we'll do a special smash cake with a sock monkey fondant icing and cupcakes-will have two flavors-Choc Chip Banana Cupcakes with Pnut butter icing and Marble Cupcake with Choc icing. We are excited and can't wait to get pics of his special day!!!

My kid won't spend more than 5 minutes watching TV. I am so jealous b/c he watched Sesame Street once for 5 minutes straight and then the MIckey Mouse Club a few times for 5-7 minutes, tops. Ew and Wonderpets one time, too. I wish I had a clue what birthday theme to do. It's hard, because my son's birthday is next month, but we just moved out of state and the only people that will be in attendance is his parents and his grandparents. One is flying in and the other lives 2 hours away. I figure I will dress him up, get a cake and ice cream, some streamers and balloons around the high chair and and where "he" will open his presents and take a few pics and be done. Sadly, since we moved here during the holidays and when I was already 6 months pregnant, we don't know anyone really that lives close by and would go to a 1yr birthday party. Let us know how it goes so I can live vicariously through you!

One of my beautiful blogger friends, Kelly from www.beafunmum.com blogged quite some time ago about an amazing tradition she has in her house called 100 balloons. Basically while their children are asleep the night before their birthday the parents blow up 100 balloons (using a pump) and put them all into the birthday childs room so they wake up to a sea of balloons. This is done for each child every birthday and apparently the kids look forward to this more than any other part of the day.
Also, I can't believe how many one year olds already have favourite TV shows! My little man pays no attention to the telly when my daughter is watching, he looks up when there are bright, exciting things on but quickly loses interest and wanders off to play, I didn't think one year olds would have had favourite TV shows yet - obviously I'm a bit naive :)

We were hoping to have a small gathering but with only family, it's turning into something rather large. Not really having a theme, just the fact that he is turning one, there will be lots of balloons, cake and tons of food. I think he will have fun even though he may not remember but that's what video cameras are for!!lol

My daughter will be 1 on the 17th. We are planning a small get together since she won't remember it & will save the big parties for later. A friend is making her a tutu & tiara to wear but there won't be any extravagant decorations or anything... just simply cake & ice cream & probably fix hot dogs on the grill for the kids...

Oh, I am so excited, yet dreading my daughter turning 1! This year has gone by so fast! I have given myself a budget for decorations, food, and everything in between. We are having a princess themed birthday party. I am making her a "tutu" skirt and my Grandma is making her a matching crown and also a "Princess" doll cake. We are all so excited for this big celebration! It is more for the parents, I believe, but at least she gets to eat cake! :)

i understand, i dont want to spend more then 200 on supplies lol. its a big birthday but also if you think about it, they wont really remember it, some people will actually say that its more for the parent then it is for the child lol. i kinda in a way believe that but then again i think that it starts a tradition for a child, every year on the same day we will celebrate!.!
