My son is 9 months and has been saying Dada, baba etc. Then 4 -5 days ago he stopped saying anything. He has always grunted, blown rasberries and said AHh and he still does. But he stopped saying anything else. I'm worried. has anyone experienced this?

my daughter stopped saying dada too and she doesn't say a proper word,only sounds.she react when ask where is daddy or anything else

My daughter started saying dada when she was 5 months. She said it all the time for a month, then she stopped saying it until she was about 7 1/2 months, then started saying it again. (This time she hasn't stopped) I figured out that I don't think she was actually saying dada when she was 5 month, but just babbling using the "d" sound. The reasoning behind this is when she started saying it again, she would use her tongue a lot more and it looked completely different than when she first said it. Other than that I'm really not sure.

I've noticed that when my babies stop making noises, it's usually because they don't feel well. My first son had a TON of ear infections in his first year. He was babbling/talking a lot, but once he got his first ear infection he kind of went silent. So maybe he's getting a cold or a tooth, something like that. If you're really worried, you ought to call your pediatrician.
