i've been sick for 3 weeks. the first 2 weeks werent too bad, but the last week i got worse every day. i used sudafed at first for the congestion. it helped for about 2 days, but then it went into my chest. i went to the er of the hospital that im going to deliver at 2 days ago and they gave me a breathing treatment and an antibiotic while i was there. they sent me home with prescriptions for augmentin (antibiotic), tessalon perles (cough suppressant), and albuterol inhalers. the inhalers help to open up the lungs to make coughing the stuff out SOOOO much easier! this is my second day of using these meds and im starting to feel a little better!

If it is sinus type stuff try a Neti pot. You can get them from any drug store. It flushes your sinuses out with warm water and a salt type solution. Everyone I've heard uses them swear by them. I just bought one, but haven't had to us it yet. Even the pharmacist said her daughter and husband use it and they have sever sinus problems...good luck

Hot liquids...decaf coffe, tea, hot chocolate...most bacteria and viruses that cause colds grow in your throat and nose and the hot liquids will keep them from multiplying too much...it will also ease a sore throat. Use a q-tip with salt water on it to swab the inside of your nose...same principal as above only the salt water kills the bacteria.
