Oliver is a climber. Baby gates, chairs, dining room tables, my computer desk and monitor and the entertainment center are his favorites. I've caught him in the act of climbing his crib walls. I swear he would climb the walls if his little toes could get a good grip. Any one else having climbing issues?

Yes, I have a climber. The other day, I took the clothes from the laundry room into the bedroom. Was only gone for a few minutes. From that time only, my little girl had move her little table from the living room into the dining room next to the dining room table. From there she climbed from her table to the big table, walked across the big table and hopped over to the cabinet and had the sink running with her feet in the sink when I walked into the kitchen. Needless to say, I have my hands full.

uhhhh, YES!!!!!!!!!! My first daughter never did anything like this-she was a perfect 1st born, nice, quiet, clean, listened, you name it. Well, my second daughter is the COMPLETE opposite!! She ought to learn how to yodel as much as she climbs! She's into EVERYTHING! I swear she sees it as a challenge. I think her constant thought of the day is, "hmmm, let me see what I can do today to give Mommy her first gray hair" hehehe, needless to say, I feel for you! Just think of it as her gift to you, keeping you on your toes, she's your own personal trainer! That's my Nicole!! ♥ (PS: we call her Moose for obvious reasons!! LOL!!)

My 15 month old just started climbing onto chairs, coffee tables, and the couch. It's funny though; he always rats himself out by saying "down" as he's doing it. I think he does it mostly to get my attention, and once in awhile to get to things.

I hate to leave them when they are at this stage. One of my older daughters turned 21 on Sunday and I was afraid Eileen was going to climb on the table and get to her cake and flowers while I was in another room. So, to give me peace of mind, I moved the diningroom chairs to other rooms, until I was done and could keep my eyes on her.

oh, yes! and thank God it's over. My twin girls would climb everything, including the piano. I don't know how they never fell off. Right now my Eileen is into climbing, but so far she hasn't discovered the piano.

my daughter is definitely a little monkey but it hasnt come to a point where it concerns me. She doesnt try to climb out of her crib though. But everything else yes. The stairs are getting annoying since i constantly have to remove her from them. She moves the baby gate out of the way.

Mine climbed out of her crib twice so her crib is lowered alll the way now. But she tries to climb in and out of the tub. I don't mind it except when it is dangerous, otherwise I encourage her exploring!

i love his name! My lil Wyatt is climbing everything imaginable, and taken a couple bumps and bruises during his exploration. He's walking for the past month, and it seems to have slowed down the climbing

It's a stage that I believe all kids go through Mine is just starting to get over the climbing stage but we had to remove the dressers from our kids' bedroom because they were climbing on top of them and for a 1 year oldf that is a really big fall and I don't want to take my chances. My older daughter is 3 and knows better but if her little sister is doing it she will often times do it anyway.

my little Abigail is a major climber and she is very determined to figure out how to do what she wants even if that means pushing smaller chairs next to tall ones then climb on that to get to the kitchen table. She has also climbed on the coffee table and ottomans and stands on them and trys to jump off of them. We have caught her on many occasions climbing in the chairs and across them to the end table and she will just smile and is so proud of herself.

:) My son is an avid climber. He climbs onto everything. I wouldn't worry. I would just keep an eye on him so he doesn't get hurt or get something he should not have.

My son is 14 months old and climbs all over everything he can get his little tush on. What I try to do is to teach him how to get down after he has gotten on something in hopes that he will learn and not get hurt from his climbing. It is really hard to disipline a child who is trying to learn new things.

I'll never forget the day I walked into the kitchen and found my 12 month old on top of the refrigerator. He also very early on figured out about stacking stuff.

Glad to see there are a lot of climbers! Lol. My son is such a climber. I was making his cup yesterday and from the time I sat him on the floor, opened the refrigarator, and his cup I turned around and he had pulled out the chair and climbed up on the table and was standing in the middle of it.

It definitely makes it interesting and keeps you on your toes! My son has figured out how to get anything that is out of his reach by stacking stuff and the worst thing is he has figured it all out before he was even walking. Lol.

I get really nervous when I leave my daughter with my parents because she is definitely a climber. They babysit for me while I work at night. Just yesterday I ran to the store and left her with my dad for really no more than 15 minutes. In the time that I was gone she climbed onto a chair then onto the kitchen table, ripped down the curtain on the window next to the table, and pulled the plastic thing that looks like window panes out. Then while my dad was cleaning that mess she went in the living room, climbed on a chair in there and ate a bunch of gum drops she found!! I've never given her anything remotely sugary so that made me upset that she ate them, on top of the fact that she could've been seriously hurt It makes me not even want to leave her with them if they're not actually going to watch her, especially since they know she get's into everything.

Yes!! And its driving me nuts. Brycen is 16 months old and he has been in a toddler bed about 3 months now bc of his climbing. He climbs on anything and everything. Lately he has been climbing onto his highchair, over the tray and sits down in his seat in the high position. He tries to climb up brothers bunk bed ladder, and stands up on top of his rocking horse with no hands. Those are just the ones that scare me to death. It seems like he has no fear.

Our girl has been climbing since she was nine months, she scared the life out of me the first time. She walked over to the dresser drawer and jumped up to grab it and swung there as I raced across the room to get her... that was just the beginning, couches, chairs, toys all before 1. I guess those got boring because now she is on to bigger and better things like stairs, bigger chairs she has pulled over on herself, play grounds and more. She actually has me a little on the edge at times. I watch her all the time and the second I turn my head it seems she is in trouble with climbing or pulling something on herself. We have already made two trips to the hospital this summer and it worries me. She likes to climb the moment I turn my head. I have always kept her with me, but even then it seems like she is faster than I am. The doctors say she is fine and healthy and that she is just discovering and exploring her surroundings. I think they should spend a day with her and see what I mean, lol *smile* Sometimes, it makes me feel like a bad mom.

He loves to climb chairs, couches, he likes to climb out of his high chair until i started strapping him in. But he will climb and thing you name it. Hasn't really figured out how to get out of his crib yet thank heaven!
