I want to get the safest things for my baby, but I'm having a hard time finding discussion boards that give advice on products. Does anyone know where I could find some, or have a good website?

I have the perfect site for you to check out. It's filled with reviews from in-depth hands-on testing of many baby products on the market today, and also includes articles on buying advice and health and safety issues facing new parents. I would love to hear what you think of it after taking a look: www.babygearlab.com. Enjoy!

Reviews are good, but so is consumer reports. They rated the best and safest car seats, among some other things. It helped me a lot.

Yes, definitely "Baby Bargains". Tons of great info on car seats, strollers, cribs, everything you need (and they tell you the stuff you don't need too). A great resource when trying to make these big decisions that impact your baby's wellbeing and your pocketbook.

Get the book "Baby Bargains" by Denise & Alan Fields - it has reviews in there based on safety and parent satisfaction. They also give you a password to their website to see reviews of even more products on there. It was a lifesaver for my husband and I when we were looking for our necessities :) (Denise also co-wrote a book called "Baby 411" that was like our bible when we had our first child - SO much helpful advice. We got both books as a package deal for cheaper than buying them separate - I would recommend getting them both)

I used recommendations from friends who have small kids and then read up on parent reviews on Babies R Us. Another good resource might be Consumer Reports.

I also just went and read review about the products. IF you go to babies r us there are a lot of review on everything. Really just go pick out the ones you like the best and then read the review to help you pick from those.

I tend to just read the reviews on the product I was looking for. I would Google the product, and read as many review as possible. The more reviews I read the better. Don't know of any particular site though. I find if you Google 'reviews on (whatever)' you will get a lot sites to choose from.
