My baby has started to cough or the sound of trying to clear your thought. I know it's not that but more probably the coughing side of things. She tends to do it all day long, it's getting quite annoying. Does anyone else have this with their little ones. Ada is 24 weeks old.

Mine does it all the time too. She's been spending a lot of time with my dad who has a terrible smokers cough so I think maybe she's trying to imitate him. She imitates everything!!

my daughter learned the fake cough from my dad and because her grandparents were very amused by it she kept doing it... i think it's funny, but i normally don't react when she does it.

My DD learned to "fake cough" when she was like a month old. She does it all the time, especially if we're around my grandmother because she fake coughs right back at her and gets a reaction from her. Sometimes it's annoying, but I just try to ignore it. I think that she just likes the reaction she gets from people. The only thing I'm worried is that one of these days she'll be doing that and I'll think it's fake and she'll be sick and it's not fake. The good thing is you really can tell that it's not real. I think that they like that they're able to make this noise.

My 5 and a half month old has been doing it alot too. Just its usually just when i lay him down so i figured drool was running down his throat and tickling him.

My 5-month old does the same thing. Sometimes she does it when she's hungry. Other times, I think she's just exploring her voice (especially since she makes other interesting noises lately too).

yes my 5 month old is doing the same thing. it was hard to tell when my 5 year old had a cold if the baby was getting a cold too but she was just mimicking her sister

my little man does it too, his 5mos and 3 wks now. he coughs all the time, when he cries, when he sleeps and when he plays...i think its his saliva he drolls a lot.

mine does but i think its because he dribbles a lot and it runs down his throat the wrong way sometimes

yea my little boy is 6 months old and is doing this fake cough thing? i think its just amusing for him!!
