Ear Piercing

my dad couldnt wait for my birthday, so mine were done at 11 months. hubby and i have decided to wait until our daughter wants to have holes in her ears (hubby is not big on piercings/tattoos etc). i've read other conversations where the parents waited and made it a big fabulous day for their daughter, who appreciated it more. i would not get an infant under 6 months pierced, just because they'll be that little stronger and fight any potential infection better if you wait.

I had my daughters ears pierced at 4 months 2 weeks, even at that age it was a bit late, in our community, She screamed for a few seconds and then quiet. NOTE, i sent her dad in to hold her, i could not handle the screaming, he normally makes her laugh out loud anyway, so seeing his face made the pain go away quicker. And she looks sooo cute!

I just got my little girl's ears pierced 3 weeks ago. It was easy, she cried for less than 1 minute, litterally. Now she doesn't even know they are there. It is so cute too. The earlier the better, because their nerves aren't developed yet, and it doesn't hurt as bad. I think is was just the noise that scared her more.

I got my babys ear peirced when she was two months. She only cried for a minute afterwards and thats it. I noticed that it was the noise that scared her the most more then the pinch that they feel when they do get it. But make sure your baby already has her/his tetnus shot before you peirce there ears.

My daughter just got hers done today...she was born 4/28...her daddy and grandma took her because i didnt want to hear all the screaming...actually all of my daughters went with daddy. my youngest 2 got theirs done at 4- 4 1/2 months my oldest got hers done a little over 2. It was difficult with the 2 year old as she didnt want me to clean them or turn them, but the younger daughter who is now 2, is completely unaware of her earrings :)

i had my AJ ear pierced at two weeks old. Her pedia done it just make sure to make her take her paracetamol after for pain reliever.

I had my ears peirced when I was two months old...I dont remember it at all ;) Just be sure to have some extra conforts like a paci if you use one and a bottle and blanket and a favorite toy. My mom said I cried but she had a bottle and that seemed to calm me down. Good luck with your decision!!

just like their shots they wont remember it in a couple hours or so. Babies wont blame you or associate you with the pain. you will be there to hold her during her tears. Just give her some baby tylenol ( check with your dr.) to ease the soreness throughtout the day. They can get there ears pierced after their 4 month shots bc that would of been two rounds of tetnas shots. good luck and post pics!

I have thought about it but like you just the pain to that little girl of mine is already stopping me. At what age is it ok to pierce her ears?
