Girl I feel you. My 11 month old is going through the tantrum stage. You have to have everyone in the situation support your choice in redirection. With my daughter I clap my hands and firmly tell her to stop then ask her what she wants. For me this works. But having 3 kids I know not every method works for every child. Believe me when I say the grow out of it.

get up and walk away!!! don't give him any attention whatso ever, put him on a big pillow so that if he throws himself backwards he won't hurt himself, but as soon as the tantrum starts,GET UP AND WALK AWAY! Until the screaming has subsided come back and try again.follow through until he gets the message that tantrums doesn't get you attention. And when he's hungry - he will eat.good luck!

I agree . . . my almost one year old is very sure of what he wants and doesn't want. If I think it's lunch time and he doesn't, well we just wait and do something else and try again later. Good luck.

when my one year old throws tantrums I just say thats enough and then ignore him. it is so hard but really they just want attention and if you dont give it to them they will stop.

make sure everyone is backing you up with him and make sure he sees it so he knows that someone else will not give him his own way

ignore it. you want to feed him and he throws a tantrum don't react to it, just put the food away and go do something else and try again later. he will eat when he is hungry. he feels that he can push your limits if you react to it. if you can ignore it, he'll most likely stop.
