What does your baby weigh now, and what was their birthweight.

I've been getting some very odd comments about the size of my son,
he's weighing in now at 23.5 pounds and just turned 9 months, he weighed
9 lbs 11 ounces at birth, I figure he's on the right track, people tell me he's too big

I would like to hear some other babies weights then and now that
were born in the same month!

Those people are being ridiculous, those people should mind their mouth, I am sure any doctor would tell you he is just a healthy baby, They come in all shapes and sizes. My baby was 10kg at 9mths and now at 10 mths is 10.86. He is perfectly normal, as is your baby. Just enjoy him.

I don't think there is anything wrong with that. My son is 9 1/2 months and weighs 23lbs 11oz, so we both have some big boys!

My Daughter was born on April 14th, She weighted 6lbs 3oz left the hospital at 5lbs 5oz and is 10 months tomo When weighed last she was hitting right at 15lbs There is nothing wrong with babies in the 90th percentile or in the 3rd. If the doctors have a problem with the weight gain or lack of it they will tell you. This baby of mine was actually under the 0 percentile for about two month they just told me to feed her more solid foods. I had another one that stayed in the 3rd % also weighing 8lbs at 5 months. They just said give more food and supplement She now is 2 and weighs 27lbs. All kids are different and grow at different rates

My son Jacob was born premature on the 21st of April. He weighed a tiny 1lbs 7 ounces and he was in hospital for over 3 months. At his 9 month chck up he weighed 22lbs 7 ounces but given that was almost 3 weeks ago i would say he is over 23lbs now. He is a big boy and loves his food, even vegies. I was a bit worried about him putting on weigt so fast but the doctor told me that he is a normal weight for a baby his age. Which is exactly what they were hoping for. I think every baby is different, i mean they eat different things, grow differently and have different enviroments. But in my opinion your little boy is perfectly healthy

my daughter is now 10 months n she is weighing in at 21 lbs 12 oz n is 331/2 inches long. the dr says she's even perportion for her wieght crossed by length. you need to remember that every baby is different and when your son starts walking and really motoring around he'll thin out. or could be like my brother. he would always get kinda fat then get tall quick n slim n then get fat n tall n slim its just the way that he would grow. and umm do these people realize that you had an almost 10 lb bby?? they can't compare him to a baby that was 7 lbs at birth. good luck!

every baby is born a different weight and height and so do they grow at different rates... some are bigger than others. as long as they are gaining and are happy healthy children the numbers don't mean anything. it's so annoying that doctors and people are often commenting on babies sizes even if there is no reason to worry... and anyways, your baby is big, what can you do already? shrink him? starve him? it's beyond our control (unless it's obesity or any other eating disorder)

Oh and BTW, don't worry about what other people say. As long as your little person is healthy and happy, they are fine. Do not let other people compare your little one! Not all people are the same, period. Weather they are babies, or grown! He is probably perfect, like all of the babies!

Donald was 8lbs 12 oz, delivered by emergency c-section, due to fetal distress... he was breastfed with in the first 2 hours, and we never looked back, he is now 2 1/2 feet tall and 23 lbs, and wearing size 2 clothes even though he is only 9 months old. he is following almost the exact same path as his sister.. hope this helps :)

My daughter just had her 9 month check up last week and she is 20.7 pounds. The doctor said that puts her in the 75 percentile rightt in line with her height. She was 6lbs 12 oz when she was born and was in the 25 percentile for height and weight then. The doctor isn't concerned about her weight, so I'm not either, but I know what you mean about the comments. Last week my mother in law said that my daughter couldn't wear a size 12 months because she is too fat. I told her shows how much she knows beause she is in 9 month clothes right now.

my daughter was born april 28th and weighed 7 lb 8oz. A month later she still wasn't at her birth weight. She went to her 9 month appt today and weighs in at 16 lb 15oz. Her doctor says she is growing consistently for her and is eating plenty. So as long as your baby has been eating the right amount and is growing consistently, I wouldn't worry! :)

My little girl was born April 10th weighing 5lbs 8oz (4 weeks early) and now weighs just under 13 lbs. That has her below the 5th percentile, but she's also still short enough for most 0-3 month clothes. I am a mommy of 8 and they have all been different sizes, (my boys MUCH bigger than the girls) but all healthy as can be. Don't let peoples comments get to you. If his pediatrician's not worried about it, then you shouldn't be either!

I went for my daughters 9 month check up and my doctor was making me so worried. My daughter is 16lbs and was 7lbs 14oz at birth and my doctor was telling me that she is under weight and she is in the 15th percent and that we have to go see her every2weeks for a check up. If she doesnt get bigger within a month we will need to see a ped doctor. She looks average size she is just tall and thin.

My dd was born 24th April, was 7lb 2oz at birth is now just 15lb and 27inch long, has always been in the 3rd to 10th percentile and dr said as long as she remains consistent she is doing great, she crawls everywhere and never stops moving, sleeps awesome at night so that's the main thing.. Breastfed I think does make a dif on the their initial weight gain.

Kristen, I wouldn't worry about his weight. He was a big boy when he was born and he's just a big boy in general. I wouldn't worry about it unless his doc says differ.

My lil was 7.6lbs when she born and when she had her 9 month check up a few weeks ago she was, 20.1.5lbs.

Liam was born 4/29 at 7lbs 3oz. He has always stayed in the 85-95% for weight, and here right at 9 months is about 23.5. Is your child breastfed? They tend to be chunkier, but it burns off when they start getting mobile :) no worries!

I have even had pple say I bet he can't hardley get around can he? I say Yes he does.. My son is in to everything all the time.. He can almost walk!!! Well u know what all babies are different some eats more then some eats alot less.. I wouldn't worry about what pple say about him being to Big!! He has always been small! I always tell people I wanted a big chunky baby, so don't let it get you down! Having a healthy, happy, chubby baby is great! They are going to use all that chub when they start walking and running around like crazy! My son will have to compensate a lot more when he gets more active! Count yourself lucky!

I have three older boys and the 1 and 3rd were really big and chunky and the 2nd born was tiny! Each child will be different and as long as they are having wet/ dirty diapers and on target for other things I would not worry too much.
