My husband is getting deployed for the first time and I am trying to make sure he does as much possible with our girls right now. He gets upset with me because he thinks I am trying to make him do everything which is not the case. He missed so much last year I just want him to get in some firsts with them before his deployment. How do I get him to understand that I am not trying to make him do everything I just want him to spend time with the girls and experience some firsts of his own with them?

What I would do is just step back and let them just be together. They dont have to actually be doing anything. Or just plan things you all can do together. Like go on a picnic or something like that. A few really good memories is better than nothing. Things will be fine. They will remember their daddy and even just the small things he did with them while he is there.
