my daughter actually does pretty good on a plane (thankfully!!) i always pack a bag with snacks and something to drink for the take off and landing! also toys that dont make to much noise! i wouldnt suggest balls or anything that rolls bc youll probably end up losing it! if youre able to move to a row by yourself or at least one seat between you and the other person it will help SO MUCH!! a portable dvd player (with headphones) is always a good idea too! with my daughter, i always pack infants tylenol just in case she gets to be too much! i know it might sound bad but the other ppl on the plane will be greatful and youll get to breath once theyre out! ive flown several times with my daughter and ive only had to use it one time! gl!

My daughter was 18 months on our first 9 1/2 hour flight. She was not a TV watcher either. What helped her the most was putting her in a window seat. They way she can see things going on outside while the people are boarding the plane and she can see the houses and all getting smaller...and if she is at the window, you won't have to worry about her running around the plane! Not a lot for an 18 month old to do on a plane, but at least the flight is short with a layover!

I don't know how far you will be flying or how old your toddler is, but I used to fly from Germany to Atlanta, GA with 2 toddlers all the time. Its a 9 1/2 hr flight, so each of my kids had a backpack and I let them pack it with their favorite toys. I also carried a backpack with gummy snacks, chips, cookies, and books. Both of my kids had a GameBoy with lots of games. After they were in the air for a little while, boredom set in and they went to sleep! lol

Travel.. make sure you bring snacks, if you have a movie player bring it. We use our MP3 player and put movies on it since it was smaller than a portable dvd player. Some small toys. I think you should be fine, coloring books (color wonder are great).
