My name is Jacque and I have been engaged to my only love for 2 years now. We just found out 5 weeks ago that we will be expecting our first child June 1, 2012 and he got orders yesterday that he will be deploying to Afghanistan again in February. I am having a really hard time dealing with this and I just found this community, but after reading so many similar stories I dont feel so much alone.

I'm Kristina, i'm engaged to the man of my dreams, expecting our first child (due June 27th 2013) - We've been together for 6 years (and 2 months).

We live in Denmark, but my husband is from Chicago, but his family moved to Denmark when he was only 5 years!



My husband is in the army, he has been home the last 1½ year but when we get to February it's time for him to go back to Afghanistan once again.

Hi- My name is Alyssa and I am a new Army wife. My husband just left for boot camp today. He is completing boot camp and basic training in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. We have two daughters. Alexis, who is almost 3 years old and Brooklynn who is about 1 1/2. I will probably have a lot of questions since I am still pretty new to the Army thing. :) Can't wait to meet all sorts of interesting people.

its hard having a daddy in the army and gone for so long. I live in Israel where all of the men are in the army. He is away on duty one month a year which is nothing compared to what I hear from other families. Despite that, he can't tell me where he is and I worry about him. I have no family here so I pretty much rough it alone. Whats nice though is that there is a pretty supportive community since everyone has family in the army.

hi everyone! i'm Alicia. my husband and i have been together for almost five years, married for two. we got arried in february 2009. he joined the army in october 2009. we have three children. a 3 yo boy named D.J. (short for darren james), a 14 mo girl named tylar rynaye, and a 2 mo boy named dominic kade. we are currently stationed at ft. bliss in el paso, tx. so far we've been lucky enough to not have gone through a deployment, although my husband didnt get to see our daughter until she was amonth old because of training, and he didnt get to see our youngest until HE was a month old because of some extenuating circumstances.in the 2 1/2 years hes been in the army, we've spent about a year of it apart. i'm looking forward to meeting other moms.

I am Bree. We got married April 2001. We had our daughter August of 2001. My husband joined the Army in October of 2001, he did so because of the Sept 11 attacks. It was a VERY busy year!

We have been stationed at Fort Campbell, KY and Fort Carson, CO...and now Grafenwoehr Germany.

My husband has deployed 4 times (so far) and been gone for many schools/fields/etc. We figure he's been home for a collective total of 2 years lol. C'est la vie, I guess.

I look forward to getting to know you all and learning from each of you.

Hi, my name is Kiaya. My husband just joined the army and is currently at Ft. Benning at basic. We have 2 children Devon 2 1/2 and Dominic 14mon., we also have a baby on the way. We are staying with my parents until he gets out of basic which come with it's own challenges. Like more than I care to think about. But both of us can't wait to get back to the normal Army life. The closest post for us is about three hours away. I've been married for 2 years (in May) but have been with my hubby since sophomore year of high school! Hola!
Well let's see, the hubby is stationed out of Ft. Bliss in Hell Paso Texas. We have an 8 year old named Adrian and expecting another one in August. We are new to the Army way of life but not military way of life. The hubby was in the Air Force as a Medic for 6 years then got out to finish up Medical School at UNM. After months of working in the Trauma Unit he came home and asked if I wanted to be a military wife again. I said sure why not :) We started looking into the AF again and the Army as well. In the end we decided that the Army was the way to go.
I was going to school for my Liberal Arts degree so that I could apply for a Mortuary Science program. I've tried my hand as a Dental Asst. but it was a boring job. I've also worked in the mortgage industry and office work. Currently enjoying my time as a stay at home mom since I've decided to take some time off from school while I'm pregnant. I volunteer 5 hours a week at one of the sub stations here in Albuquerque.
Adrian is your typical little boy! He's an active little guy and an experianced soccer player. He's been playing soccer since he was 4 and plays 2 seasons a year. He recently started indoor soccer to keep his skills up during the winter and is playing basketball here at Kirtland AFB. He's looking forward to becoming a big brother!
As for the pregnancy its going good a little sad that the hubby will be missing everything but such is life :) Otherwise just looking forward to meeting new people :)

Hi , my name is Trina. I am a mother of two boys who are full of energy. My little ones have special needs. We are stationed at Fort Lewis. We have done too many moves, too many deployments, and my husband has been in the Army too long. lol. I am a Doula, and I am training with Whapio Dianne Barlet (woohoo!) and I can't wait to work with pregnant mothers whose husbands are deployed. Hi ladies.

I am a UK army wife. My husband has been in the British Army for 3 years and is due to go to Afghanistan for the second time in 12 weeks time. I get a lump in my throat even thinking about it. We have a beautiful (almost) 4 year old son - he definitely keeps me going.



My husband is in the Infantry and i am hoping to train as a midwife as soon as our son starts full time school.

Hello! My name is Dana and I met my husband when we were both in the Army. In June we will be married for 13 years. We have 3 daughters. Cathryne 12, Kaelyn 9, and Karleigh 14 months.

My husband actually got out in 2003 but we are in the process of him going back in. We are hoping to get him into OCS late this summer or early fall.

In the past we were stationed at Ft Hood, TX, then Okinawa Japan and then Ft Carson, CO. During the 8 years my husband was in he never deployed... The most we were apart was if he went to NTC. After my husband got out, he went to Iraq as a civilian to work for a year when the war started.

Can't wait to get back into military life... we (especially me) have missed it so much! I love to move every couple of years.

Belvior, VA, this will be my first Army move.  Sad to move, Portland is my home town, all my family is here but also excited for the new adventure.  We live in Tigard.  Where abouts are you? 

Hi Kim. I grew up at Ft. Belvoir then met my husband there. We LOVE the area. It is VERY expensive and super busy all the time. Our first duty station together was in KS and it was a def. culture shock for me. I've never been to Portland so I can't compare the two. Housing on Ft. Belvoir was upgraded a few years ago and is great compared to most bases we've seen. Let me know if you have any questions and maybe I can answer them. Good luck on the move!

Hi everyone! I'm Megan and have been married to a wonderful man for a little over a year now. We have a beautiful 4 month old little girl, sweetly named Gabrielle, and thankfully have not had to deal with a deployment thus far. We are having to deal with his being on GRF (Global Response Force) for the next year. He is scheduled to deploy in January 2011. As for where we are at, we are currently attached to Ft. Bragg, so it's been really nice having a community that are completely military friendly.

I'm Jenn too! My hubby and I have been married for 5 1/2 years. We have 3 boys. Carter is @ 5, Owen is @ 3, and Gage is 1 1/2. My husband joined the Army in August of '08. He is military police and is currently deployed to Korea. He is due home January 31st and we will then be moving to Ft. Hood, TX. I'm the one that started the Ft. My name is Kate and I will be marrying my sweet Sargent in December of 09. He's been in the service 8+ years now. He was in the Navy but now is in the Army. I will go through my first deployment next year. I have one son who isn't biologically his but loves him and he loves my son. Andrew is very excited about his new Daddy, and I am very in love. I'm scared, sad, and worried all at the same time and he's not even deployed yet. I do what I have to, to not think about it. I can tell I'm going to need a lot of help. I tear up everytime I think about him leaving. We will be together @ Ft. Campbell for a very short time before he goes. We are not expecting, but will be shortly after he comes back from deployment. We want 3 more!

Any tips or advice would be wonderful, I don't mind being alone, I will miss him but that's not the problem, I just don't want anything to happen to him.

I'm sorry if I've been too honest about my true feelings, but I don't want to make my mother in law into my emotional punching bag, I know she worries too. My Sgt. is wonderful, and I want a happy and long life with him.
