Between raising your children, working, and managing your home, how do you carve out time for yourself?
As a single mom, making time for myself is never easy and I have to constantly remind myself to do it. Most days it's the hour or two I spend reading, meditating(yes I meditate haha) or watching a movie before bed. Other days it's the 90 minutes I spend at Bikram Yoga class. When I have extra money and time I treat myself to a "party of one" adventure like a trip to Atlantic City, a spa day or dinner and a movie by my lonesome.
What's your favorite thing to do with your children on the weekends or other free time?
My favorite thing to do with my son is to go to the library. It may be simple, but I love letting him pick out his own books to read to me. Plus it's FREE! On Saturdays we almost always have a pajama day where we just hang out, play games and watch movies... never getting dressed or leaving the house. After a busy week I think we both enjoy the downtime with each other.
What responsibilities or chores do your children have to help you around the house?
My son is 6 so I just started giving him chores to do. We have a Guinea Pig and a fish so he is responsible for feeding them the days he is here. He is also in charge of making sure his room is cleaned up every night before he goes to sleep. And sometimes I will have him help me take the trash out. His reward is a $3 per week allowance which he loves because he can then treat himself to things as his saves his money.
