The Best Part of Living in the San Francisco Bay Area

There are so many aspects of the SF Bay Area that I love, but I think it's especially incredible to be in such a short driving distance of so many beautiful areas, from the ocean to the redwoods to the mountains. And the microclimates can be pretty sweet, too — head to the coast for some natural air conditioning or go inland for plenty of sunshine. The weather in Oakland is pretty close to perfect.

My Favorite Kid-friendly Activity in the Bay Area

I think the wide variety of parks to play in is appealing to kids of all ages. We love the steam train in Tilden Park, mainly because our son is just a wee bit obsessed with "choo-choo's" at the moment.

Some Say It's Hard to Raise a Child in the Bay Area...

I don't think it's hard to raise a kid here, but then again I've never tried to raise a family anywhere else. I was born and raised here and always knew that this is where I would want to stay. The Bay Area may be more expensive than other areas in the country, but the diversity of people, the beauty, and the culture are well worth it.
