How did your style change (if at all) after becoming a mom?

The first few months of being a mom were hard. I was recovering from a C-Section and couldn't do much, so I was relegated to wearing my maternity tanks and leggings, or sweats. All day. As I recovered, I no longer wanted to feel like a grubby, dirty "I don't care" person, so I started to look for ideas on how to dress quickly and comfortably, but still look fab. It wasn't very smart for me to continue wearing 4 inch (and higher) heels while toting along an infant carrier & diaper bag, so cute ballet flats and flat tall boots became staples. It's so easy to throw on a flowy top and skinny jeans, and pair with flats and an awesome scarf. Quick and effortless style became the norm, because as a mom you don't always have an hour (or even 30 minutes!) to primp for the day.

What's your favorite stylish and practical item?

My current love are my leopard print loafers. They add instant flair to any outfit, and are comfortable for chasing around my toddler. For me, it's not sensible or practical to wear platforms or wedges for running errands or going to the park. Shoes are always the key to making any outfit. Even if you're feeling fat/bloated, your feet typically stay the same size (unless you're pregnant), and are perfect for adding a pop of color to your outfit or accessorizing!

What's a quick thing moms can do to take their style up a notch?

Go shoe shopping! Pick up an awesome pair of ballet flats or loafers, or even a cute pair of booties. It's amazing how one pair of shoes can transform an entire outfit. "Cinderella is proof that a pair of shoes can change your life!"
