Of all the parties you've thrown, which was your favorite?

I get excited about all of the parties that I plan, but I think my most favorite party was the Survivor camping party that we threw for our oldest son when he turned eleven. The boys had an absolute BLAST gathering fire for their campsite, painting a tribe flag to hang outside their tent, and participating in the fun Survivor challenges that we planned for them. We even hung a bag of goodies from a tree deep in the woods and the boys had to use their compasses to go find their loot. They scored flashlights for flashlight tag, glow sticks, and treats to munch on for the night. Once the sun set they made dinner and s'mores over the fire and talked all night long. It was a great party that I think we'll all remember forever. Photo link: "http://www.passion-for-parties.com/image-files/camping-party-boys-by-fire.jpg"

What's a great tip for keeping a party affordable?

There are two things that I suggest for keeping a party affordable. First, repurpose items that you already have. Fabric, paint, ribbon, and paper are go-to supplies that easily transform things that you already have around the house into fun, "new" items for your party. Second, use simple, inexpensive items to create your party decor. The Dollar Store is a great place to purchase solid color paper plates, streamers, cupcake liners, and balloons. Choose colors to match your theme, then use them in creative ways. Paper plates create a fun, easy backdrop for party tables, or add a punch of polka-dot fun when adhered to walls around the party area. Streamers can be shaped into colorful DIY flowers, cupcake liners threaded on a string make an adorable party garland, and balloons always make a party more festive. :) Photo link: http://www.passion-for-parties.com/image-files/minnie-mouse-picnic-table-shot.jpg

What are some unique ideas for party favors?

My favorite party favors are the ones that are personal. Pictures of the kiddos having fun at the party are always a sweet keepsake, and they're made even more special when framed in picture frames that the kids have decorated themselves. Things that the kids have crafted during the party also make great party favors. The kids take pride in the things that they've made themselves, and they serve as a fun memento of the good times they shared with their friends.
